One of the first clergymen to serve the early Pennsylvania-German settlers, John Casper Stoever maintained a ministry in southeastern Pennsylvania for a period of fifty years, during which time he kept a record of the baptisms and marriages he performed in his missionary travels. Stoever's journal is reprinted here, complete with an index so sadly lacking in the original.

This is an excellent genealogical resource. Many Pennsylvania German families are in this book because Rev Caspar Stoever started many small German Lutheran churches in Pennsylvania and even into Virginia.
