Product Description

Rugged, Compact, & Lightweight Magnetic Field Meter

Couldn't be easier to use, just turn it on and get accurate reliable readings. Perfect for situations needing high resolution measurements of AC magnetic fields without spending a lot of money. Large LCD display reads 0.1 -199.9 mG over the ELF range of 30 - 400 Hz. Provides readout in both mG and microTesla. Calibrated to within 4% ±3 digits at 50/60 Hz. This single axis meter samples every 0.4 seconds when flipped on with slide switch. Requires one 9V battery. One year limited warrantee.

Like all single axis meters, this meter must be rotated during use to find the proper orientation to the magnetic field being measured to get proper readings.
Please note: this product is intended to measure electric fields, and does not detect nuclear radiation.

Ordered mine and received it within 3 days.
Works fairly well, and I haven't found any EMF spikes when left alone. (NO Ghosts)
The only thing that it lacks, is a led light, because the screen is not visible in low-light conditions.

First off if your trying to measure cell phone radiation, this device will not work. It's only low frequency which is good for household wiring, power lines and appliances. So if you want to check cellphones, cell towers, microwave leakage, WIFI, Smart Meters and etc, you will need to get a RF capable meter that goes from 50 MHz up to 3 GHz or higher for some cordless phones and wireless N.

Have not tried using it for Ghost Adventures yet..

Review for: Lutron 822-A Fully Digital EMF Meter

OVERVIEW:
-----------

Measures EMF strength of low frequency (30Hz-300Hz in this case) portion of AC MAGNETIC FIELD (NOT AC electric field, too) from ONE AXIS (direction) in milligauss (mG) or microteslas (uT).

Because cell phones and microwaves are in a much higher frequency range, this product does not measure EMF (RF) at those frequencies. You would want a separate meter for that.

The Achilles Heal of this instrument is that the design is HIGHLY INACCURATE for LOWER EMF readings. The accuracy is not 4% of the displayed value (+ 3 digits) but rather THE ACCURACY IS % OF THE VALUE OF THE END OF THE MEASUREMENT RANGE (4%x200mG = +/-8mG (+ 3 digits). Since most consumer EMF checking is in the single and low teens mG, this is unfortunate.

This will do fine for noting the EXISTENCE of stronger EMF at lower frequencies, but appears to be a highly inaccurate choice for MEASURING it.

MAIN VALUE:
------------

- Measures EMF at 30Hz-300Hz low frequency range (Magnetic AC field only, not Electric AC Field), which covers most EMF generated by AC power in most homes/offices. 60Hz (U.S.) and much of the EMF generated by resulting harmonic frequencies .. 120Hz (2nd harmonic), 180Hz (3rd), 240Hz (4th), 300Hz (5th).

CONS:
------

- HIGHLY INACCURATE for LOWER EMF readings .. a fixed +/- 8.3 milligauss (mG). Since most suggested defensive limits for extended exposure are 1mG-2mG or so, this greatly limits its utility. See paragraph above under "The Achilles Heal of this instrument.." for more detail.

- Measures only AC magnetic field (mG/uT), NOT AC ELECTRIC FIELD (V/m,mW/cm2, etc.).

National Cancer Institute page uses words like "inaquedate" and "limited" to describe the evidence showing a link between EMF's and cancer. They never claim that there isn't any.

Works Great, used it at work and found a big energy leak.

Also tested an old computer monitor (CRT type) that was giving my friend lots of headaches, it was putting out 5.49 milliGauss, about as much if you were to put your face right in front of a microwave oven.

Mmm toasty, now wonder her eyes were burning and her forehead was hot.
p.s. hope her boss buys her an LCD monitor, not so much radiation.

I love this, it works quite well and I was able to identify some areas of the house where there were high EMF readings.

The product description by Amazon is misleading consumer. The specification stated the Bandwidth is only up to 300Hz (not the 400 Hz stated by Amazon). I'll rate it higher if not by this misleading info.
