Product Description

White three-way electronic low-voltage, rocker-style dimmer. This low-voltage dimmer switch features a nightlight and small slider to control the dimming function. It has R.F.I. suppression with power-failure memory, is easy to install, and the crisp white finish is perfect for many interior color schemes. This is a three-way dimmer designed to control the "line" side of electronic low-voltage transformers powering incandescent lighting loads of up to 300 watts, where the lighting is controlled from more than one location, such as a hallway, or the top and bottom of a stairway (use 3- or 4-way mechanical switches at remote locations--not included). The preset feature maintains a light output preference. A neutral wire connection is required, and the designer-style wallplate is not included. Lutron manufactures all types of high quality lighting products including lighting panels, lighting switches and light dimmers. Lutron's long history and reputation has propelled the company to be a leader in the industry. DL # 3956.

I replaced my "over the kitchen sink" fluorescent fixture with two LED bar lights. There are times you want to inspect your dishes and food, and. at other times you want to just see what your doing. I also got tired of attracting all the insects in the back yard at night to the kitchen window over the sink. I had to have a LED dimmer and the electronics in this expensive rocker-style dimmer, according to various articles I read, did it best, allowing for fine dimmer control in a very gradual, evenly distributed manner. The LED bars connected directly to the 120v AC current coming from the light switch. I didn't need a transformer to convert to 12 volts, like so many other LED bars require. It worked fine with the old "on/off" light switch, and when I upgraded the switched to the DVELV-303P, it was almost perfect. There is one spot about two-thirds down the dimmer control where I get an "ever-so-slight" buzz in the LED bar, but I have to really try in order to hit that spot. I am really impressed on how low I can dim the LED lights. I could make them barely glow. On the flip side, I also used a much less expensive LED dimmer, the Lutron Diva DVCL-153-AL, with my recessed 120v AC LED ceiling light over my kitchen table. I had to manually adjust this less expensive dimmer during installation to "define" the low end of the dimming range. The really fine control in this cheaper dimmer wasn't there either. For my application - bright or about half-as-bright or just dim - I am just as satisfied with the cheaper Lutron DVCL-153-AL. But I was more impressed with the DVELV-303P dimmer. My advice, don't buy a Corvette when an Impala fits the bill. But if you have an elaborate lighting design, get the DVELV-303P. Warning - the DELV-303P requires a neutral wire, which is frequently not used and consequently not installed in most simple single pole switch boxes, meaning re-wiring cost.

I use Great Eagle LED bulbs all over my house and this Lutron dimmer works great. It dims down to almost off smoothly.

I purchases this switch to reduce the buzzing of the LED recessed lights in my kitchen and I'm happy to report that it worked. With the standard Lutron dimmer the buzzing was very noticeable, even with multiple people in the kitchen. But with this dimmer the buzz is just barely audible in an empty house. Huge improvement.

Bought several of these dimmers when we did our home remodel a few years back. Unfortunately, after awhile, several of them are failing with our overhead LED lighting throughout the house. In a couple rooms, the setting now only allows for either fully bright, or the dimmest of dim (nothing in between). I think there are some ongoing compatibility issues with these and the relatively newer style of LED can lights. If anyone has had any success with other dimmers working with LED can lights, please let me know.
