5.0 out of 5 stars Works as Described
Got this product as a replacement for a Hampton Bath Fan/Light with stacked switches to control each independently. Disconnected the original switch assy (three wires plus gound) and installed this product in ten minutes. The timer switch will save a lot of electricity and pay for itself within a year.

Easy to operate and program

I purchased two of these switches AFTER talking to a Panasonic tech rep because I wanted to install them with a new bathroom vent fan FV 11VHL2. I gave Panasonic the specific switch model, and they said these would work. Well they DONT work for this. The dimmer part never shuts all the way off. The night light stays on very dim all the time, and the regular lights wont power up all the way. The timer part is not rated high enough to carry the load of a heater, which I knew, based on specs, but again, was told it was an approved switch.
The led lights on this unit are a little old school in color on the amber countdown timer part. 1970's orange.
LUTRON tech says that this switch will only work with a 40WATT load minimum, because it is a feedback switch too. FORGET THE night light!
I'm sure this switch would work great for a really light load in some other application, but the "programming" of it is a bit absurd, and the lack of ability to actually have the light turn off all the way, prohibits me from even using it on the exhaust fan side of the project also..
I called back again to Panasonic, and got a totally different story about how they don't recommend and don't have any info on timers and the only recommend switches. I'll edit this if I find a better way to run 2 functions in a single gang box.
***### ADDITION: I really Cant say enough bad about this switch. The "feedback" part of the switch won't allow my fan to even run, without a load in the circuit of the dimmer switch portion. SO, if your light bulb burns out, the fan isn't going to run. That's brilliant!@!
To modify the panasonic, I'm going to remove all the flourescent bulbs, the balast, and install about 6 night lights in the mounting area for all the other bulbs. Keeps the heat down, and keeps the load up. Normally I'd just get another switch, but I'm space limited..bummer

Does exactly what it is designed to do. I had heard somewhere that you should run your bathroom fan for three times the length of your shower...but i am out the door two minutes after my shower, hence a need for the timer. The light switch gradually brings the light up to full brightness, which seems easier on my eyes first thing in the morning.

3.0 out of 5 stars not so great, August 26, 2011

The design is terrific, but the lights flicker and oscillate at certain levels if the fan is going. I tried two different switches - no improvement. Both work fine independently, but you have to play with the light to find a level so it will stay on constantly if the fan is running. It's still kinda cool and saves a bay.
