I looked up and down to find a compatible dimmer for my CREE LED light bulbs. I read some bad stories that worried me. It seemed like finding a compatible dimmer for a LED bulb is not trivial. I finally was able to get a hold of a CREE certified dimmer list, and this one (Lutron Skylark S600P) was one of them, with the lowest price tag. After ordering it and testing it, I am convinced that I made a good selection. Can't be happier.

I really just wanted the little piece that controls the dimmer that comes off. It was exactly like the one I used to have. I wish I could have just bought that individually.

I agree the picture is misleading, but the description does say "Coordinating Claro wall plates purchased separately". In any case, I did not require the wall plate because I was replacing a regular switch with this dimmer. Installation was easy. All necessary parts were included. The dimmer worked fine with 120V lights. According to my electrician, this dimmer would not work well for 12V lights. Down the road, I wonder whether I would need to change my dimmers if I buy dimmable CFLs or LEDs.

Again, No faceplate. Shipped fast, switch is brand new, no complaints, but still no faceplate!!!!

The Lutron S-600P dimmer switch is pictured with the face plate. As I was in a hury when ordering I assumed that I was buying what I was looking at.

Wrong: the two dimmer switches arrived without face plates. Reading the Product details section for this product provides that clarification.

Now I was looking at ordering two face plates and not meeting the $25 minimum for free shipping, plus having to add sales tax.

Very disappointing and atypical for Amazon, with the result that I found a non-Amazon source for the face plates.
