This came with our house and I hate it! I never ever had to fight with a thermostat to get it to do what I want when I want to do it. It works, as it should until you want to lower or raise the temperature. On other thermostats I've had, old, old metal dial ones and newer digital thermostats, you press the button to lower or raise the temperature. Not so with this one. With this one, you have to hold down the button until it decides to click on and respond, then the numbers move, but they move so quickly that you may not catch it in time to set it at the desired temperature. Did I say this is crap? It is. I can't believe that a hvac company installed it in the house we purchased. It certainly doesn't save energy, as it can only be set at one temperature. As I said, you have to fight with it to change the temperature. As a result, you just leave it where you set it. As another result, we are replacing this junk with a Honeywell Digital Programmable Thermostat. We had one in another house we owned and had great operational success with it. Again, I can't recommend this piece of junk because it is a pain in the neck to get it where you want it.
Of course, if your household is the kind that wants the temperature to stay at the same temp all day and night, then this will work for you. If you like to change the temperature throughout the day, say when you get up, leave the house and return, this will not work for you.
Another thing, it seems that after a few years, our house is just four (4) years old, the low battery indicator no longer works. We've changed the battery three times with fresh batteries and the indicator still says low battery. As I said, this is a piece of junk!

I had one of these and it's crap. Freezes a lot, when you turn it off, you might have a problem to get it back on to keep the right temperature. It takes forever to "calibrate" itself. Poor technology.

Verified Purchase
This unit replaced the one that I had installed when I bought my home. It was a good pick and the display is much better than the old one.

Static electricity is a big problem with the unit. I went to change the temperature setting and when I touched it a spark turned the panel reading into cross hatch patterns. Thereafter the unit wouldn't work at all. When I complained to LUXPRO that I used the unit in a normal way and expected them to take responsibility for it they declined. Apparently the customer must ground himself before touching the unit instead of LUXPRO designing a product which shields the sensitive internal components from discharges of static electricity.

We have a custom built house with this thermostat. The house was built in 2010. The first one we had to replace the batteries every few months until it quit working....3 years. It was replace with the same make and model. Now the heat will only come on by turning it off on the thermostat, waiting a few minutes and turn it back on. Not my idea of fun. It will be replaced with a different make this time! i will say it looks good. Works great with the a.c. It does have a back glow feature for using it at night.

EASY TO INSTALL AND OPERATE WITH A LIGHT THAT COMES ON TO SHOW THE NUMBERS IN THE DARK....

HOWEVER....I UNDERSTAND THAT THE TEMP IS CALIBRATED AT THE FACTORY TO STAY WITHIN ONE DEGREE.....BUT MY EXPERIENCE FOR EXAMPLE....SET THE HEAT FOR 74 AND IT MAY NOT TURN OFF,,,TILL THE TEMP REACHES 76 OR HIGHER.. DON'T KNOW WHY ? ANY IDEAS ?
