Great torch for the $$,

The Nuwai 3-Watt, also known as the Nuwai X-3, River Rock 3-Watt, or Rayovac 3-Watt is a great flashlight for $20-30.I believe when its in its Rayovac labeling, it is rated at 80 lumens brightness, although it probably only puts out between 60-65. Even then, 60-65 is still an incredibly bright beam (akin to many higher-end companies' tactical torches) with a bluish-white hotspot that can effectively illuminate up to 100'. It has a reasonably tough (type II) anodized aluminum body, and just looks plain cool. Nuwai says it has a 3.5 hour life on batteries, but this is really only true with rechargeable cells. With standard AA akalines, its got a battery life of about an hour and fifteen minutes, with an hour of that at peak brightness. Excellent power regulation (keeps its peak brightness for as long as possible, doesnt dim over time), and an LED bulb that can take punishment and never burnout. 5.6 inches in length. I recommend it!

Great camping flashlight,

My wife and I bought two of these for our "camping kit" and we love them. When you're away from home you don't want to get caught with dead batteries and so having a flashlight that uses "standard" sized batteries (AA or AAA) is essential in case you need to stop in at the backcountry mom and pop store for a fresh pair. We also have the 5 Watt Nuwai TM-301X-5T flashlight, and although I prefer the casing on that one (and the brightness is unbelieveable!), it burns through CR123A's way too fast, and our rechargeables are now only lasting about 20 mins per pair. :-(As a result, this is our go-to flashlight for all but the most light-intensive needs. I'd love to see a 5 Watt version (with 6 AAA's maybe?), but for now this gives us the best bang for the buck for our needs.
