one of my favourite tracks from the album....., January 17, 2006
This review is from: Luxurious (Rmx) (Audio CD)
gwen stefani is something else. all of the singles off the multi-platinum LOVE ANGEL MUSIK BABY were different: "what you waiting 4>?" was a 80s rock opera with a powerful message, "rich girl" w/ eve was a dr. dre dancehall joint with a timeless chorus, " hollaback girl' the neptunes song that had everyone go BANANAS, & "cool" has new wave all over it and quite possibly one of the best tracks on the album....
so where does "luxurious" leave us.... as the final song from the album she teams up with former bandmate tony kanal and create this song about makin' money & chillin'.... the slowest song on the album heavily sampled isley brothers beat.
i love this track because it is a complete 180 from NO DOUBT. i did not expect a kind of track like this on her album. and to make it even better. she invites my favourite houston rapper SLIM THUG to make the song more of a hip hop feel.
i love the feel to the song and its very different.... i can see plenty of people jammin this song on a summer day... keep up the good work on your next album gwenie gwen gwen....
4.5 stars out of 5: very unpredictable

a not-so-remixed remix...and a sought after mix of Cool..., December 19, 2005
This review is from: Luxurious (Rmx) (Audio CD)
Along with the album version of "Luxurious", the remix featuring Slim Thug is not really a remix, more like a re-edit of the album version with a rap inserted into it...and it's 20 seconds shorter than the album version. But the real gem here is the full 6 and a half minute Richard X remix of Cool, a mellow electro mix with a bassline that will remind any fan of 80s new wave of "Let Him Go" by Heaven 17.

slow. sexy, luxurious song! 2nd best after hollaback girl, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Luxurious (Rmx) (Audio CD)
firstly, love the album pic. gwen always knows how to do something cool and artsy like madonna. the song, i love! it is like a slow, sexy r&b beat with some sprinkles sprinkled on it (literally, throughout the music it sounds like they are sprinkling sprinkles; similar to what you'd hear on a Disney movie). i also love the lyrics, it is so sexy. and what i love most about this song is when she sings the chorus; it's like a fast, sexy chant. when i heard it i said gwen has a hit! it is my fave after hollaback girl. that isley bros beat is a good beat. yet i find gwen's remake to be better.
