4.0 out of 5 stars one of my favourite tracks from the album.....
gwen stefani is something else. all of the singles off the multi-platinum LOVE ANGEL MUSIK BABY were different: "what you waiting 4>?" was a 80s rock opera with a powerful message, "rich girl" w/ eve was a dr. dre dancehall joint with a timeless chorus, " hollaback girl' the neptunes song that had everyone go BANANAS, & "cool" has new wave all over it and quite possibly...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool as it is (2.5-3 stars)
yo MisterMaxxx is breaking up behind this track (the 4th and final single off the disc LOVE.ANGEL.MUSIC.BABY from Gwen Stefani), This is what I expect and a pure-sampled out joint featuring Gwen Stefani along w/ Slim Thug (on the rmx. with her) is going BANANAS!!!

Again Maxx (or Bro. Maxxx) needs to try again next time aight. He's been too typical on some...

so where does "luxurious" leave us.... as the final song from the album she teams up with former bandmate tony kanal and create this song about makin' money & chillin'.... the slowest song on the album heavily sampled isley brothers beat.

i love this track because it is a complete 180 from NO DOUBT. i did not expect a kind of track like this on her album. and to make it even better. she invites my favourite houston rapper SLIM THUG to make the song more of a hip hop feel.

i love the feel to the song and its very different.... i can see plenty of people jammin this song on a summer day... keep up the good work on your next album gwenie gwen gwen....

4.5 stars out of 5: very unpredictable

5.0 out of 5 stars a not-so-remixed remix...and a sought after mix of Cool..., December 19, 2005
This review is from: Luxurious (Rmx) (Audio CD)
Along with the album version of "Luxurious", the remix featuring Slim Thug is not really a remix, more like a re-edit of the album version with a rap inserted into it...and it's 20 seconds shorter than the album version. But the real gem here is the full 6 and a half minute Richard X remix of Cool, a mellow electro mix with a bassline that will remind any fan of 80s new wave of "Let Him Go" by Heaven 17.

5.0 out of 5 stars slow. sexy, luxurious song! 2nd best after hollaback girl, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Luxurious (Rmx) (Audio CD)
firstly, love the album pic. gwen always knows how to do something cool and artsy like madonna. the song, i love! it is like a slow, sexy r&b beat with some sprinkles sprinkled on it (literally, throughout the music it sounds like they are sprinkling sprinkles; similar to what you'd hear on a Disney movie). i also love the lyrics, it is so sexy. and what i love most about this song is when she sings the chorus; it's like a fast, sexy chant. when i heard it i said gwen has a hit! it is my fave after hollaback girl. that isley bros beat is a good beat. yet i find gwen's remake to be better.

Ok where was I?...oh yea while sitting, relaxing and enjoying the song "Luxurious" I was on the Get-Go thing like this some music, some beats I wanna do w/ my music. The beats plus the conga things reminds what I heard from Twista's "Slow Jams" and The Game's "Dreams" (all songs been produced by Kanye, Ye or the Lou Vuitton Don), 'cause ev'rytime I hear that, it reminds me of everything else I do. The video's cool, wish I was the director behind the video, or the producer, writer/songwriter/lyricist, and arranger behind the track with her, even tho me and her are in the same link behind the music and making hits like this.

Wonder we'll have me and Kanye or Dre or somebody to do that. How about that?

1.0 out of 5 stars wearing out the Isley Brothers"between the sheets", January 8, 2006
This review is from: Luxurious (Rmx) (Audio CD)
how many folks are gonna ride off the Isley Brother's "between the sheets"?? it was cool when Biggie&Da Brat did it.but Gwen Stefani makes it sound like a Cocktail party type of song.as a solo Artist She ain't no more deeper than Ashley Simpson.Gwen stinks as a Solo Artist.I was never huge on No Doubt, but they at least had a few decent cuts, but Her solo Stuff is like a Movie that burys itself in 80's songs to hide the shortcoming of a Actual Movie.vocally she is flat&this beat don't move me much.it was better served 12 years back.Slim Thug don't add nothing here.it's Bland.Gwen is a sexy chick, but Musically for the most part I gotta keep her on Mute.
