5.0 out of 5 stars Hardcore Punk!, February 16, 2006

I just thought I'd write a review today, even though I have been a Lunachicks fan since 98. I'd have to say this is my favorite album from the Lunachicks... and probably even one of my favorites ever made! If you are into the more oldschool punk, you will love these girls! If you are from New York and into the punk scene, you probably already know them. It's not just punk though. These girls just know how to rock! SUPER hardcore! If you don't like politicaly correct punk, then no worries. Lunachicks don't talk politics. The only message you get here is a kick to the face!

Luxury Problem marks the return of the Reigning Queens of fem-rock the Lunachicks (Forget L7 and The Donnas; Lunachicks blow them BOTH away!) From the Blues-Grunge of "Crash" to the all out speed of "Shut You Out", this one is a winner! If u like it raw, fast & heavy pick this up now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lunachicks at their best!, May 21, 2000

After listening to this cd for over a week straight, I am still loving it and haven't gotten sick of it yet! Every single song is great, with the 'chicks really showing how tight their band is and how great Theo can sing. This album seems to have a heavier punk/hardcore feel to it then past albums. The Lunachicks are one of those rare girl bands where they can play extremely well both live and on a cd, the lead singer actually can sing, instead of just screaming, and the songs are well written. Do yourself a favor and buy this cd, you won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great big cup 'o coffee!, May 22, 2011

The 6th and final album by New York band ,Lunachicks. This album is full of teeth gritting, humorous, power-punk with some other junk mixed in. Alot of yelling, lots of guitar work ,drums and boister. I'm hearing lots of Blondie inspiration going on also ,especially on track 10 'Cumming Into My Own'. The most powerful track on the album for me is 'Hope To Die' which has a slowed down tempo with a Hip-Hop/Jazz undertone with a beat you could rap to, topped with electric guitars, a humming bassline, riffs, cymbals & drums- It's quite different from the band's usual sound yet still delivers the same wikkednezz as anything they've ever done before. Theo sounds as if she's on top of the universe. The lead vocalist ,Theo kogan's vocals are very much like Linda Perry's when she was with 4-Non-Blondes, She has the "What's Going On?" voice all through this album. She has that "nawthun" dialect, This is no LA band and you can hear it. Theo sounds like she's chewing gum when she "sings" (for lack of better words". The band's style or sound is somewhere between No Doubt and Babes In Toyland. If you like other bands like Bif Naked and L7, You could potentially get into Lunachicks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Give it a good try, December 9, 2006

This CD didn't immediately hit me. But the track "Luxury Problem" did, so it earned a stay in my rotation. As I began listening to the rest of the CD, one by one other songs began growing on me. Not long after, this has become one of my absolute favorite CDs ever. There are still a few tracks I skip, but at least half the CD is absolutely incredible. I am in a riot grrrl cover band, and three of these songs are going right into our setlist. It's an amazing album, and an amazing band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Lunachicks!, July 14, 2002
By A Customer

The girls have definatly progressed over the years with their music. Fun lyirics and catchy tunes. One of the best Lunachicks records out there!!! The title track reminds me of all the prissy girls in high school. Better than a bottle of prozac, makes you feel happy and goofy all at once. Fun to sing along!

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a departure, but still Lunachick Heaven!, June 17, 2001
This review is from: Luxury Problem (Audio CD)
This album sounds a tad more "pop" than their last efforts. But it's still up to the Lunachick standards... with lyrics like "you put the turd in saturday". I have to admit I was a bit surprised when I heard the album for the first time -erchance a new producer at the wheel?

But every time I've listened to it (and I do that once a day), I love it even more.
