5.0 out of 5 stars Cadillacs in top form
The bad news is there are only five original new Cadillac songs on here. There are two covers and a handful of remakes of older material.

The good news is that all five new songs are top notch, especially the title track, which could have been on the band's masterpiece, EL LEON. The covers, especially of the Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go," are fun,...

3.0 out of 5 stars the NEW Cadillacs
This is a fun album, but lacks the raw feeling of the OLD Cadillacs. Overproduced recordings; too "safe" and radio friendly.

The bad news is there are only five original new Cadillac songs on here. There are two covers and a handful of remakes of older material.

The good news is that all five new songs are top notch, especially the title track, which could have been on the band's masterpiece, EL LEON. The covers, especially of the Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go," are fun, and the remakes are distinctive and interesting. (Though how many more times will they record "Basta de Llamarme Asi"? This makes the fourth, counting the live version on CHAU.)

The record is rather apolitical, which is the biggest surprise. The remake of "Mal Bicho," one of their most aggressive statements, has the feel of their disco cover of the Stones' "Miss You." The anthemic chant, "Te digo no! Te digo no!" is gone--yet the song still works.

This is a must for serious Cadillacs fans, and not a bad place to start if you've never heard the band.

It's LFC and not much more need be said if you're a fan. Some new songs here but what I really enjoy are their reworkings of some of their classics. Hearing Emilio of Rabanes guest singing is a plus. I've never heard a bad CD by LFC and this is another great one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Come Back By Los Fabulosos!!!, November 18, 2008
This review is from: La Luz Del Ritmo (Audio CD)
"Padre Nuestro" is one of the best songs that are in this new album by LFC.
I predict it will be the next single aside from "La Luz Del Ritmo".
"La Luz Del Ritmo" is just good old LFC. With its Samba rhythms and just an over all "party time" feel. Reminds me of "El Satanico Dr. Cadillac"
Can't wait to go see them in concert here in Chicago if they ever decide to come here.
Some of the other songs are just presented in a new way. I don't quite agree on some but still love them none the less.
Absolute buy!

This is such an awesome blend of music styles- ska, rock, cumbia.. and deep poetic lyrics. I love it, love it,love it. My favorite is the last track 'Condenditos', so eerie and moving and 'stormy'. This CD does not disappoint.

What a pleasure it is to have Los Fabulosos Cadillacs back. Their first new studio album in 10 years is a welcome return to form - I'm loving some of the new versions of hit tracks (in particular "Mal Bicho")as well as the brilliant Clash and Ian Dury covers.....and the new track "Flores" is killer! Can't wait to see their reunion show in April!

Nosotros Egoistas, a song written by Mr. Flavio for Toto, a member since the beginning who died early this year is so beautiful. Check out the remake of Padre Nuestro! Makes you wanna dance. The remakes rock! and the new ones: in one sentence: LFC are back!
