Customer Reviews

The lights are perfect for my outside patio.

At first, they stopped working on intermittent occasions, but then they stopped working completely (within a couple of weeks after setting them up).
Dagerow
They worked like a charm and were charged by the sun all day to light up late into the night.

EDIT: The lights died on me yesterday for no reason.
Disregard the below!
They only last about two months.
---

I put my string lights up almost a week ago and I have been very happy with them so far. We don't have an outlet outside, so these lights were just what I needed. Long length and not too costly, with a decent solar panel.

It was overcast the day I received them, so I was worried they wouldn't light up that night. However, the solar panel and sensor work excellently and the lights come on once it is dark outside. (It is a good idea to not stretch out the light before you know they are charged and functioning.)
I find it funny that the lights turn off momentarily if car lights shine on the sensor. Thankfully, the street light on my road doesn't cause that problem.
I have not tried the blink setting.

Don't get nervous when you unpack the lights, thinking the cord couldn't possibly be as long as described.
The lights are thin and in a tiny little box, but sure enough, the cord was around 11m.
It is a good amount of light though, and I am pleasantly surprised.

I will update my review if the lights die on me prematurely, but so far I think the price point is awesome for the product.
Good quality, good price, happy customer.

These are very pretty. They have been soaked with rain a few times and left on for about 3 weeks now and they're still burning full strength at dawn. They came with NO instructions but I learned from before that to get the most out of solar lights, leave them charging in full sun for at least 12 hours before you use them at all. This could take a few days but will pay off in the long run.

Okay, so a couple things you should know about these before buying: First, they really are fairy lights. I put two sets on a 10 foot pine tree in our backyard, and they look more like fireflies than Christmas lights. The effect is charming. Very different from the two trees we have decorated with more traditional Christmas lights, but still, charming. Secondly, the wires get very stiff when out in the cold (we live in Minnesota) I put them up on a 12 degree day and I was careful to stretch them out in the warm house beforehand and then bring them outside to put on the tree. I could see how the wire could snap in the extreme cold if you tried to unbend them in the cold. Third, the sensors will turn off when exposed to light. What this means for the set that I have wound in our garland on the front porch, is that every time a car pulls into our driveway with their headlights on, or when I put the porch light on, the lights turn off. Next year, I will probably opt for more traditional lights in front that will stay lit all the time. Finally, the solar panel powers the lights just fine. After a partially gray Minnesota day yesterday, all four of our sets were still lit up (although faintly) when I woke up at 5:00 this morning. Overall, I am very pleased with this set. I wish I could afford to buy 50 of them and light up our entire back yard.

I bought these to use while camping (adds a nice touch) in a campground that doesn't offer electricity... at all, we're talking boondocks, here.

The size and color of these lights are very appealing. They look very much like the photo, warm in color and small in stature. The brightness is decent, as well*

Overall construction is actually better than what I was expecting. While not top shelf, these lights appear to be decently constructed. The solar module is simple: Plastic case, about 3.5"x3.5" is smaller than I would prefer (larger area means more power accumulated) And it is this issue that hurts most solar products. *If the solar strips don't receive six to eight hours of direct sunlight, you won't get the preferred performance. Six to eight hours of direct sunlight appears to produce about the same operating time for the lights being on.
Two buttons on the case: On/off and blink. Since these lights will only work if their daylight sensor is tripped, i.e. it's nighttime, or you cover the solar panel side with your hand, you can only use them in darkness. Again, it is in these features, the day/night sensor and solar capacity, that there is some inconsistency. I bought two of these items, one performs noticeably better than the other. The better one seems to charge up more fully, producing brighter, longer lasting light, and it also has a more conservative sensor, holding out until its actually evening. The other noticeably lacks in both respects. Still, they both operate well enough to recommend to anyone who is familiar with the idiosyncrasies of solar powered products, and wants some little lights that do not require you to pack batteries.

Pros: Neat little lights look great and are easy to use. Light weight, put them on your backpack, or whatever you will, and light up the night!

Cons: Solar power... it is what it is.

These lights are amazing .. no more trying to find extension cords long enough to run from the house to the trees! Word of caution : These lights won't work in already lit areas .. if there are lights close by, they will not turn on. I'm guessing, if someone wants to use them to enhance an area that is already lit, one can cover the panel to make the surroundings darker. Definitely a good buy!
