I can't see what all the griping is about. This is a fine book on baccarat and gambling in general. There's not much science to playing baccarat. It's not poker or even blackjack. But the advice given here is useful, and it's pretty much all the advice you really need. Plus the general gambling tips are also good and the personal stories are fun to read.

Lyle Stuart is a book I bought for under 9.00 dollars . it explains to you the basics on how to play Baccarat.the book also goes into stories on the history of baccarat along with more stories about Kerry packer the aussie billion-air who beat the casinos out of millions, I Am always buying gambling Casino books in baccarat and blackjack. Because I always learn something new. and in this book ; I Learned the rule of 3 which saved me a lot of money much more then the cost of this book.yet when I go to the casinos instead of going with a streak when I was on a bank streak I had other people at the table betting against me ?they were betting player hands and losing a lot of money- thousands. The banker run came down12 times then 1 player and then I left. The table up. The players that bet against me went broke at the tables .if only they would have read Lyle Stuarts book and rule of 3.

I've become fascinated with baccarat because I'm too dumb to count and too lazy to play advanced strategy at the blackjack table. In my defense, my really smart friend from Silicon Valley gave up blackjack in favor of Texas Hold'em. He was a decent counter/strategy player, but Vegas has instituted so many counter-measures (get it ?…"counter-measures"; sorry, bad habit), that he doesn't find much reward in playing. So back to baccarat… I guess you could count if you want to; but, really? So here's my understanding of what it takes to bet a baccarat hand. Wager for: bank, player, &/or tie. See, easy. What Lyle Stuart does in his book is tell one great gambling story after another. And then, he tells more stories. I mean, what can you say beyond: bank, player, tie (heads or tails)? On page 87, Stuart describes his "Rule of Three. " I'm not going to be a spoiler, but let's just say that if the same advice were to be applied to the stock market, Stuart could be hailed as a trend following Svengali. Near the end of the book, Stuart tells us a few neat tournament stories (yes, more stories). On page 263 we are finally rewarded with "Stuart's Seven Rules For Beating Baccarat" (two pages). Then Stuart shares some of his former score-card glories augmented with accompanying stories.

Since I don't avail myself of gambling very often if at all, my interest in the book/subject is essentially theoretical. To entertain the theoretical, consider betting up by half after your second win. This is not a winning strategy, but it can turn a lucky streak into a really lucky streak. Consider that blackjack requires you to wait for the deck to be positive before you increase your wagers. But how is it that a shoe runs to the positive?
