Book Description

June 26, 2008
Over the last decade, two disease epidemics have gone from mild ripples in the water to roaring, ravenous, all-consuming tidal waves, destroying thousands of lives and tearing apart countless families. These two diseases are Lyme disease and autism. Until recently, these afflictions were believed to be unrelated. Actually, that is an understatement. They were believed to have absolutely nothing in common, occupying distinct and opposite positions in the medical field. Whereas bronchitis and strep throat have some relationship in that they are both infections, Lyme disease and autism were thought to have nothing in common at all-one is a tick-borne infection which healthy people contract while camping, and the other is a prenatal brain development disorder. Recently, however, science has found similarities between Lyme disease and autism that cannot be ignored. When one looks beneath the surface of these seemingly diverse disorders, the underlying discoveries are shocking. Awaiting your discovery is the Lyme-Autism connection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Physician Review, September 9, 2008
This review is from: The Lyme-Autism Connection: Unveiling the Shocking Link Between Lyme Disease and Childhood Developmental Disorders (Paperback)
This book contains eye-opening data to convincingly make the connection between autism and Lyme disease for anyone willing to look outside the traditional box of medicine. It is easy to read for lay people, yet is perfect for physicians as well. The book is well-organized and simple to navigate. The story is totally compelling.

In addition, you will find practical information to help you improve your health. For example, you will find much information about how to find a Lyme -literate medical doctor (LLMD) and Autism-literate medical doctor. Also, you will also learn about pertinent diagnostic tests and specific laboratories. Multiple references are presented throughout the book.

This book should be required reading for anyone with autism. In addition, every doctor should read this book as well since we doctors are not taught about the infectious cause of autism and the chronic nature of Lyme Disease in medical school, residency, and continuing education.

The Lyme-Autism Connection is the one of the most important books about Lyme or Autism.

5.0 out of 5 stars My toddler son is RECOVERING Lyme induced Autism, October 13, 2011
This review is from: The Lyme-Autism Connection: Unveiling the Shocking Link Between Lyme Disease and Childhood Developmental Disorders (Paperback)
I have been on a lyme journey since hearing the words from our natropath " your son has Lyme induced Autism ". I thought he had Autism at the age of 2 and that the vaccines harmed his immune system. Immediately after treating for lyme he spoke. Well as he recovers Lyme the Autism lifts ! He is now VERY verbal, SOCIAL and LOVING and not described as autistic. This is an important message that you may get a negative Lyme test but necessary treatment is based on symptoms !

This review is from: The Lyme-Autism Connection: Unveiling the Shocking Link Between Lyme Disease and Childhood Developmental Disorders (Paperback)
This is the single most up-to-date book on tick borne diseases, suitable for all ages, even if your children are quite grown up as mine are. Testing, diagnosing problems: good blend of technical /medical /personal writing. Get it and give it to your medical providers even if you and they are 60. Especially if Lyme Disease did not exist when they did their training: when I graduated from nursing school in 1981, Lyme disease did not exist. You can't be diagnosed with a disease your provider knows nothing about and, therefore, can't suspect.
