5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD out in a long long LONG time!!
Bad Acid Trip is the most unique band I've ever heard... there is nothing generic about this original energetic awesome band. I have been fortunate to see them live on a few occasions and there is nothing like them out there, with the most entertaining live shows and great music, what more can you ask for? This album is great, if you like hardcore in your face music then...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad Acid Trip - 'Lynch The Weirdo' (Serjical Strike)
Believe I was lucky enough to catch this 'freak metal' bunch several years ago when they were on tour with Gwar. Bad Acid Trip was apparently discovered by System Of A Down lead vocalist Serj Tankian. Tunes here I thought sort of stood out were "Cigarette Pack", the insane "Jump Rope, Spray Water", "Constructing Love" (is it just me or do this song sound like a munchkin...

Bad Acid Trip is the most unique band I've ever heard... there is nothing generic about this original energetic awesome band. I have been fortunate to see them live on a few occasions and there is nothing like them out there, with the most entertaining live shows and great music, what more can you ask for? This album is great, if you like hardcore in your face music then you will be thrilled with this CD all the songs are great, Cigarette Pack is a great song with a great melody and beat, so is Zombie Nation not to mention Constructing Love and Bad Acid Trip, the song Habits of Clay is a bit different than the rest of the songs and is awesome as well, not to mention Plate of Shrimp. This is a must own CD, when you hear B.A.T. you know you just heard something new, exciting and great. In an age of mindless generic cookie cutter music this band stands out and demands attention!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Weird, crazy music with a message., December 4, 2005
This review is from: Lynch the Weirdo (Audio CD)
Bad Acid Trip's "Lynch the Weirdo" is quite possibly one of the most insane things I've ever heard...and they actually have a good message. As far as genres go, Bad Acid Trip ranges from grindcore, punk, thrash and something one cannot describe. The music is intense, strange and chaotic...perfect mix of agressive music. The lyrics, on the other hand, are the shining part of this album. They range from goofy ("Cigarette Pack" and "Zombie Nation") to Hot Topic-hating, anti-commericalism ("Jump Rope-Spray Water") to government and social issues ("Kill or Be Killed," "P.C.," "Fascist F*ckwad," and "Beef-Moo." In summation, if you enjoy eccentric and chaotic music with entertaining yet thought-provoking lyrics...pick up "Lynch the Weirdo."

5.0 out of 5 stars Grind your face off with a cheese grater!, June 19, 2005
This review is from: Lynch the Weirdo (Audio CD)
I've seen these guys live like 6 times and Dirk & the boys never let you down! I first was introduced to B.A.T back when I bought the Blllleeeeaaaauuuurrrrrgggggghhhhh! 7inch compilation on Chris Dodge's (the ledgendary powerviolence band SPAZZ)record label Slap-A-Ham. I got into them and purchased their record "Remember" and I was blown away. I heard some ass call them "System of A Down" rip-off's but this is far from the truth! They have known System before they got big and are good friends. Plus Daron produced "Lynch the Weirdo" so there was a lot of collaboration there. Lynch the Weirdo is amazing! All the speed and brutality plus the slow parts just to catch your breath before the next blast beat rips out your spine! GET THIS ALBUM!!!!!!! ALL SYNONYMS OF BRUTAL APPLY!

Bad acid trip is music for the people not afraid to listen to the different and be the different. Deffinately a welcome change to the usual mainstream rock and they have to be one of the most powerful talented bands around. This heavy, Thrash, metal, punk CD is a treat not to be missed! BUYYY!

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad Acid Trip - 'Lynch The Weirdo' (Serjical Strike), October 15, 2008
This review is from: Lynch the Weirdo (Audio CD)
Believe I was lucky enough to catch this 'freak metal' bunch several years ago when they were on tour with Gwar. Bad Acid Trip was apparently discovered by System Of A Down lead vocalist Serj Tankian. Tunes here I thought sort of stood out were "Cigarette Pack", the insane "Jump Rope, Spray Water", "Constructing Love" (is it just me or do this song sound like a munchkin being molested?), "Beef Mo", "Join The Circus" and the appropriately titled head-banger "Zombie Nation". Total of seventeen tracks with a duration of just 32 minutes. Line-up: Dirk Rogers-vocals, Keith Aazami-guitar & vocals, Caleb Schnider-bass and Jose Perez-drums. Remember hanging out a bit with the band - before and after the show. Also remember frontman Dirk Rogers pulling out a spinning vibrator from his pocket during their set, placing it on a guard's forehead and quipping something like - "Look! Boys and girls a unicorn." Yep, demented cats are a laugh a minute. Wouldn't mind seeing them again as opener.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hello, all you little fans!, November 13, 2005
This review is from: Lynch the Weirdo (Audio CD)
One of the first bands signed to Serjical Strike, which is Serj Tankian's imprint label, conjures up a combination of rockabilly metal and neanderthol lyrics that look downright insane on paper but are pulled off sonically. This was one of those bands I had heard about but not had a chance to listen to, until two summers ago on Headbangers Ball (a video for "Beef Moo"). They were given a 3-star review in Hit Parader, and got me interested in the band. I picked up Lynch The Weirdo at the Music Boxx in February, and it was well worth the 12 dollars and 98 cents.

For the discerning metalhead, it offers a wide variety of musical shifts; some are in the same songs. The tracks can be about anything; "Jump Rope, Spray Water" is a hilarious take on a band who instructs their audience to buy their merchandise, even if they can't play. "Kill Or Be Killed" is a moshpit against war, while "Strange Humans" is about people getting over their hate towards each other. Not one track on the album is devoid of some message, and the music meshes with the fast-paced vocals.

Lynch The Weirdo is a refreshment, picking its nose in front of mainstream rock and putting out tracks that are very important. Some might like it for the music alone, and the sincere/nutty lyrics could even interest numerous amounts of people who find their loud splash of noises distasteful. If you live in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and can't get or don't want the album, find an old radio and twist the knob to WSHS 91.7 FM to hear a tune on Mondays from 4:30-6:00. It's my special holiday gift to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely nuts!, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Lynch the Weirdo (Audio CD)
i've seen some bad reviews on here... and when i bought the cd a few years back, the first time i heard it, it was a little much for me and i was not sure how much I liked it because the "thrash" was not my style, but after I did acid i started to like it a lot more... They really do a good job of getting what I'd call "psychadelic wickedness"... i could see why people have bad reviews on this band, which is because it's not their genre of music, and they can't adjust to it... for their style of music (as original as it is) they do a very good job, and their name definitely fits the music...

i hate that people hear metal and say "there's no talent to that"... when they are all backwards, because the music they listen to is nothing but 3 guitar chords, a simple drum beat, and some catchy lyrics... before you buy this cd, take into consideration that it's not your typical catchy melodic radio music...

before you pick up this cd, make sure you can handle the genre...

they open for system of a down, but Serj Tankian supports them not because they sound like the songs SOAD puts out on the radio (the catchy tune ones).... but because B.A.T. sounds like those crazy weird songs that SOAD, DOESN't put on the radio....

know how your bands work... every band writes a song or two for the radio, system of a down did it... then did what they really wanted on their albums, otherwise no big labels would support him... people would like Bad acid trip more if they did one of those songs where the producer told them how to do it, so that they had some crappy song to put on the radio, because people eat that crap up

all in all, good band, good cd... just weird! which is why i like it
