5.0 out of 5 stars Truly amazing....
If you are thinking this is another coffee table book, you would be wrong. This book is much, much more. It is a life affirming book written by a woman who is not only courageous, but also generous and kindhearted in letting her readers enter into her private world and sharing that world with us. There wasn't one page in this book that didn't captivate me, whether it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
A friend bought this book for me. I, too, have battled breast cancer. The photos of Lynn posing with her battle scars were very poignant, but I really wish that this had been more of a book about her story. There is very little text in the book--I read it in about 20 minutes. The photos of her and by her are all very good, but I was disappointed that the book was...

If you are thinking this is another coffee table book, you would be wrong. This book is much, much more. It is a life affirming book written by a woman who is not only courageous, but also generous and kindhearted in letting her readers enter into her private world and sharing that world with us. There wasn't one page in this book that didn't captivate me, whether it was the written word or an image taken by Lynn or an image taken of Lynn. Lynn's writing is as moving and beautiful as are the photographs in this extraordinary book. LYNN FRONT TO BACK is a testament to the power of a person's will to live life to the fullest, from rafting above the Arctic Circle to facing a life threatening illness. It is a personal journey that will transform its readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Special!, August 3, 2005

This is a book about an extraordinary woman supported with love and sensitivity from a very special family. It sets the bar for how we might deal with challenges, and it reminds us of our mortality. It is quite a gift that Lynn has shared this part of her life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lynn Front to Back by Lynn Kohlman, February 11, 2006
This review is from: Lynn Front to Back (Hardcover)
I wanted to read this book ever since I saw Lynn and Donna Karan on the Oprah show. I was impressed with their friendship.

This is a beautiful graceful book with soul. Lynn's essence, strength, inner & outer beauty shine through every single page. Her photography is magnificent.

I came away feeling better towards the world and all the creatures in it. I feel clearer (fresher)about the priorities in my own life. This is a wonderful inspiring book that captures a journey of life, it's textures, colors and challenges. I did not put it down until I finished it. If she publishes more books - count me in! I will buy sight unseen.

I went to high school with Lynn, heck I think we went all thru school from elementary school. We were never really close -- it was a large school -- but one of the girls in our class brought an autographed copy of this book to our 45th high school reunion last night. The book is amazing. I had never known anything about her life after school. In school she wasn't one of the raving beauties, just a nice quiet girl who was always smiling. And she was never a part of the group of us who were into photography. You just never know. But as I leafed thru the book and got to the daring photos of what her illnesses were doing to her, it was a true profile of courage. And then -- there were the clippings of her obits that her friend had placed in the book. Sad. So sad. But this is not a tragic book. I've just ordered a copy and plan to spend some time with Lynn as she wanted us to with this book.

There is very little text in the book--I read it in about 20 minutes. The photos of her and by her are all very good, but I was disappointed that the book was almost entirely made up of photos. I guess I was hoping for more inspiration. The size of the book itself (it is extremely large) made it clumsy to read.

The true story of a self-described "bookworm" who makes it big in the world of fashion modeling in the 1970s.
A true individualist, Lynn became a cultural icon and a muse for several top designers,
including Donna Karan, Perry Ellis and Tommy Hilfiger. A story of great courage as she fights cancer
and learns to live with surgical disfigurement. Very inspiring.
