Best alternative to gloves!!!!,

This review is from: Lynx Performance Grips (Misc.)
Several years ago, I was talking with my personal trainer at the gym about how my hands were getting calloused from all of the free weight work I had been doing. He had suggested gloves but, I explained, I had tried gloved in the past and didn't like them. Most gloves add too much bulk to whatever I'm gripping and actually make it so that my forearms get fatigued. I also don't like the fact that gloves start to develop an odor quickly since they get sweaty from my workout and from living in my gym bag. Unless I wanted to have several pairs of gloves that got switched in and out of rotation, I would have to wash my sole pair of gloves nearly nightly. The guy using the weight bench next to me overheard this conversation and offered to let me try his Lynx. I LOVED THEM! They add almost no bulk at all to barbells and dumbbells, they create an amazing amount of grip and they can be washed in just a few seconds in the sink at the gym. The only problem I have with them (and why I'm on Amazon today... to order another pair) is that you have to be careful about setting them down somewhere and forgetting them. My Lynx were in as good a shape after five years of using them as they were when I bought them. Had I not lost them last week at the gym, they probably would have lasted another five years or more.

I really like these. However, my only complaint is that they make the BB too fat and make it harder to maintain grip. My hands are on the smaller side and although these are quite thin, they still change the diameter of the bar. As a male, I can see how it would not make much of difference and be a great tool. I still use them for pressing movements where my grip is not so much an issue but where I could be protected from the prickly grips on DBs.

I couldn't find gloves that would fit right, or feel right, or wouldn't pinch lifting heavy. These really work well for me. Recommended.
