More About the Author
Veronica Blackbeauty grew up in the streets of North Philly, in Richard Allen Projects. She attended public schools and in her tenth grade year she grew to love writing more with the help of her english teacher Ms. Kramney. Ms. Kramney would have her students write short plays and have them act them out in class. This piqued an interest even more for Veronica. Veronica began writing poetry at the age of eight years old and went on to writing raps and songs in her early teenage years.
In 2005, Veronica had a brush with death after giving birth to her now deceased daughter Lyric, she began writing Lyric: Philly's Own Pricess. Two months into writing and seven chapters later, Veronica developed writers block. There she wouldn't pick up a pen until two years later.
In 2007, again Veronica had a brush with death after suffering from her long time illness Sickle Cell Disease. When Veronica was release from the hospital, there was no stopping what she wanted to do and that was tell a story that was long overdue. Five weeks later, Veronica completed a entire story and gave birth to Lyric: Philly's Own Princess. The story told about the girl growing up in very similar situations Veronica, herself faced. From poverty to rape, Veronica has found ways to overcome various obstacles in her life.
Veronica has started her own publishing company called Black Iz Beauty Publishing which she hopes in the near future to help those publish their material. She currently goes to school for nursing which is a passion and is hoping to meet serveral goes, counseling teen runaways and kids that have been raped and molested.
