Review

...a fun and enjoyable read.--InD'tale Magazine, Feb. 2014

From the Author

Lyric was written with one of my favorite towns in mind: Bronxville, NY. An English-style village 28 minutes by train from New York City, it's a unique community of 6,500 people within one square mile. The opening scene of Lyric takes place on Bronxville's main street, Pondfield Road. See what happens when a chance encounter between Lyric Chandler and Dawes Van Dusen turns into friendship and then much more in this contemporary romance.

We all find love in different ways. Some jump right off the high dive into the deep end while others wade in slowly through the shallow end. This book takes us on a romantic adventure from a his/hers (deep end/shallow end) perspective. It reminds us that the best things in life can happen when we least expect it. As you follow the courtship of Lyric and Dawes you will undoubtably have butterflies in your stomach with every turn of the page. A romance that every girl dreams of and a couple you cannot help but root for. "Lyric" is a true and rare gem!

I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and how the romance between Lyric and Dawes develops. You just want to keep reading to see if they finally find their happily ever after together. I have read all of the author's books and can't wait until her latest book is released.

Good book. I enjoyed it. Sweet, easy reading that provided a break from the monotony of the day. I liked Dawes better than Lyric but I love the name Lyric. :)

I like that Dawes is straight forward without being pushy or arrogant. He doesn't play games. Lyric kind of does play games- she is flighty and back and forth- but has other very redeeming qualities. Communication is NOT one of them. As I am not, and never have been, a young professional woman working in an urban area, I guess this book wasn't written for me but I did enjoy it anyway.

Thoroughly enjoyable read, once again, from Ms. Gaston. Her characters are so believable and real and the settings of her novels are always so thoughtfully described you really feel like you're there, in Bronxville. The story unfolds in unexpected ways and holds your attention (I couldn't put it down and got to bed late several nights in a row, ugh!). I can't wait for her next novel, the sequel to Paris Adieu!
