5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Pamela Scarangello on May 12, 2008
Format: Audio CD
For anyone who worships the vibrant, lush, and speedy sounds of power metal by groups like Symphony X and Rhapsody of Fire, Versailles is Japan's cream of the glittering and glorious choral crop. Formed in 2007, this latest visual kei act consists of Kamijo on vocals, Hizaki and Teru on guitars, Jasmine you on bass, and Yuki on drums. From start to finish, their "Lyrical Sympathy" EP delivers an audio feast of harmonious twin-guitar riffs, romantic Neo-classical piano melodies, and adventurous rose petal lyrics sung (of course) entirely in Japanese tenor. Adding on top of this spectacle are the band members themselves, who pose on the CD's colorful jewel sleeve in extravagant 18th century court costumes, resembling a manga cover of "Le Chevalier d'Eon" brought to life.
"Lyrical Sympathy" may only have six tracks, but when I listened to them all, I was thirsty for more. Thank goodness I learned that Versailles will release their first ever LP, "Noble," this summer.

Format: Audio CD
This CD is amazing, and well worth the money. Kamijo has the voice of a god. Hizaki, despite the fact that HE makes a very beautiful woman, totally rocks the guitar. The music is haunting and beautiful and vicious all at the same time.
