Hip Hop at its finest,

after hearing Vol. 1 I had to cop this album and I must say I was far from dissapointed. I know we all buy albums with a few good songs but all of these tracks won't dissapoint. From Mos Def, Gangstarr, MOP w/ Kool G Rap, Redman, Dilated peoples (beat is intense) et cetera, et cetera, I think they dished out the best. Granted, not all tracks will top your radio charts, but Hip Hop Fans and freestyle lyricists like myself will not be dissapointed with the amazing beats and great lyrical flow, possibly some of the best these guys have dished out. I think the bar has been raised in terms of lyrics here reppin the lyricist lounge cause I haven't heard rhymes like this from these guys for a minute. Some of you may not recognize the talent here and you'll definitely be surprised. Tracks 19-37 are essentially blank, possibly a recording error, but hang around for the remix of MOPs Legendary which'll be sure to shine light despite the new beat which is tight in a different light. Buy this, it won't dissapoint.

A classic hip-hop album.
The main CD cover shown here is incorrect, though. It says "Sarah Brightman the Andrew lloyd weber collection". huh?

This is what live hip hop is all about. Stage and lyrics. No gimmics and no BS. Each emcee shines on every song all 18 tracks here on this CD (19-37 are just blanks).
Some of the stand out tracks was: 2) "Oh No" by Mos Def and Pharohe Monch with the vocals of Nate Dogg 4) "Get Up" by Coco Brovas/Smif-N-Wessun (Tek & Steele) 7) "Ms. Fat Booty 2" by Mos Def and Ghostface Killah- one of the dopest tracks on the CD 13) "Da Chipha"- Staight freestyles from Planet Asia, Phil Da Agony, Guilty and more 14) "Still Here" by Big L and C-Town- another dope track. Lets you know that real hip hop lives on by the example of this song 15) "Right and Exact" by Dialated Peoples- the first time I heard some production from The Alchemest 18/38) "Legendary Street Team" by Kool G. Rap and M.O.P.- I like the remix better than the origonal, but both are dope. I recommend this to those hip hop heads that know what it means to rock the stage on the mic with lyrics. |
