Book Description

July 1, 1998 Arabesque
Joe loves Gina. It's her life of fame as a singer that he hates, especially when it explodes in murder. Gina's musician brother has been killed, and when Joe's name is ruined by the scandal, he asks for a divorce. Gina runs away to Lyric, her Pacific island hideaway--a place where passion is sure to ignite the tropical nights, and when Joe follows her, he will make sure that nothing can stop their love again.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

LAPD detective Joe Deauterive was married to Jasmyn. His college pal, record mogul Carson Campbell, was married to singing star Stell Keeling. Carson's adopted sister, Gina, another pop diva, was married to her manager, Paul Winslow. Shuffle the deck and Jasmyn ends up married to Carson while Gina ends up with Joe. Then, Carson is killed in a suspicious car crash on his South Seas resort island of Lyric and some vague suspicions drive a rift between Gina and Joe. While the island setting is lush, well researched, and evocative, the narrative is weighed down all the way to the killer's wildly improbable confession. The tension provided by Joe's investigation is here, but there is little suspense over Joe and Gina's reconciliation?for them, it's love at first sight, part two. All in all, a confused read that isn't helped by Craft's (The Black Pearl) occasionally awkward writing: "It was Jasmyn, sweetheart, that Carr spoke of finding out he couldn't trust to protect him."

More About the Author

More than anything, I'm a whole earth lover, but that doesn't mean I like everything. I do give people the benefit of the doubt, and I'm happy with that.

I've written 19 contemporary romance novels and been a participant in 4 romance anthologies for Harlequin, Kensington, and BET and. I've had a really good time writing romances and have a mainstream romance, Solomon and Sheba, biblically-based and this century to be released in 2012., but I've indie published a multicultural thriller, "Dying On The Edge," on sale now on Amazon and all online bookstores. I will also be doing a triology of biblically-oriented mainstream romances that I will also indie-publish. Edge will be a series. I love this, and I look forward to having you read and let me have your comments, yea or nay. They're all part of the writing game.

My mind really began to open when I began to indie-publish. I was lucky enough to find good help after many many stumbles and disappointments.

Please visit my interactive website. You'll find all my books and reviews on there and some good info about me. http://www.francinecraft.com.

I'm looking foward to hearing from you. My website is interactive.

Best,

Francine

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, Mystery, and Mysticism All in One Book, January 26, 2012

This review is from: Lyrics of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Wow, what a book! As a South Carolina native myself, I love to read about mystery and mysticism sometimes in my romance stores. Well, I really got it in this book "Lyrics of Love". Francine's island romance about a top level singer and songwriter (Gina Campbell), and her love affair and marriage to Joe Dauterive, a cop who was a lieutenant detective. He dearly lovers her, but hates the life of glitter that she move in. I love the fact that he hangs in there with her until her brother, who is a record mogul is murdered. It makes me made when he's suspectd of the murder by one of the police officials who hates him. He finally tells her that he no longer loves her and wants a divorce, but actually it is to protect her. I love the way that they meet again on her island (Lyric Island), and their love affair and that of others, plays out in spades.

Purchasing this book and trying it out on my new Kindle gift really pleased me. I think that I'm going to be one of those people who really appreciates Kindles better than print. I really love, love, loved this story, and I'm reading some of the others and having a ball! Thank God for modern technology:)

I read this book in one day. I started reading on a Saturday morning, and had to finish it before I could go to sleep that night. It was filled with so many emotions. There was excitement, love, frustration, everything. This book is highly recommended.
