The Lysol representative told me the germ killing product was still sold (after a while of searching her system) but then discovered on her own that the same UPC code was being used for two different products. She then took my name and telephone number and transferred me into la-la land. Lysol doesn't seem to care too much that they lied to me initially that the UPC number I gave them on my antibacterial product was still being sold or that I was concerned with the honesty of the decision to switch products under the same UPC.
Why did I call? I searched for my favorite Lysol disinfectant multi purpose cleaner in grocery stores, Target, Walmart, etc. only to find that Lysol had bait and switched the public by cleverly replacing their germ killing products with non-germ killing products. Considering the entire brand of Lysol is based upon germ killing capabilities and has been for almost 100 years, why the switch? And why so sneakily replace germ killing products with similar looking bottles of non-germ killing product all stores?
Frankly, if they had used a different UPC code instead of using the SAME UPC CODE FOR TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS, I wouldn't have a problem with their corporate decision to destroy their own brand. That's Lysol's choice. However, don't switch products under the same UPC code so that buyers can't even find old stock of the previous product.Read more ›
