Product Description

The TAMPA is a single channel microphone/instrument preamp of uncompromised quality, with a dual servo optical compressor. The audio path is all harmonic phase shift corrected, solid state, discrete, Class-A circuitry. A special emphasis was placed on recreating the warm sonic character of vacuum tube triodes. TAMPA s inputs have dual gain stages, while the balanced mic input offers variable impedance switching. Outputs include mono S/PDIF with selectable sample rates up to 96kHz.

The three words I will describe this item as:
Superb, Easy and Pleasant.

I use it for vocal recording. My gears are Edirol UA-4FX and Rode NT2 and SM58. After a big frustration with a built-in mic-preamp in UA-4FX, I decided to buy a good mic preamp and a compressor.

This product is really fantasic.
Now, my home studio sounds just like real studio with thousands of dollars worth gears. I expect nothing better from home recording.

Its mic preamp and compressor produce strong and clear sound with no noise. This will actually pull up your microphone up to its full potential.
