5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound Card
I use this card with a Windows XP box and it works just fine. Installation was no problem, and I didn't have any pops/clicks the other reviewers noted. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound Card, December 10, 2005
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
I use this card with a Windows XP box and it works just fine. Installation was no problem, and I didn't have any pops/clicks the other reviewers noted. The is about the cheapest "professional" soundcard you can get. The sound (recording or playback) is basically perfect - no noise whatsoever. The breakout box is great since you don't have to keep going behind your PC to make connections. It also reduces the noise you'll pick up if you're doing any recording. The outputs are 1/4" TRS jacks, and you"ll need 1/4" to 3.5mm adapters if you want to connect to any regular computer speakers. I use these with Alesis M1 Active 520 monitor speakers and the sound is wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for, September 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
This card/box works perfectly for me, and does exactly what I need it to do. The software allows you to mix your channels down individually, and the quality of sound that is captured from the inputs and outputs is unbelievable. The 4 in/4 out was perfect for me as well, since I use a mixer to mix down all my tracks/instruments, I can send out two stereo outputs (a total a four LR) from my mixer in the main mix and from the alt mix. This card is exactly what you need for digital recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars read stuff about pops in the audio..., September 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
alot of people complain about crackles or pops, but after opening my computer, air dusting it out like crazy, and installing it, it worked instantly.. with no pops at all..but, after connecting all my stuff to it, i did have some weird noise, but figured out that i could fix it with new plugs (gold rca to 1/4 ones),which are $1.50 right here on amazon.. and since then had zero noise, zero pops..so far, i got the delta running back and forth from a bunch of samplers, including an MPC1000, SP808, a casio FZ10m and a SK1, routing it all to adobe audition, running at 24bits 48k, which is more than fine for what im trying to do.. this card is incredible for its price!
KEEP IN MIND, although people on the net have hooked up more than one 44 on their system, the M audio staff said this is not a good idea.. they said things like "...we do not support that configuration..", and "...If you want to try (at your own risk)..."
so, if you need more ins/outs, throw in some extra cash

5.0 out of 5 stars Great card, have been using it for 9 years., June 13, 2011
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
This card is great. I have owned one for 9 years which is still in use in my studio. I have read other reviews and must disagree with people completely. Anyone who gets Snaps and crackles with this card does not know how to set their buffers correctly. Setting your buffer too high or too low will casue crackle with any asio card

This is one of the best ASIO cards ever produced. I just wish they would make a new version that was PCI e based.

1.0 out of 5 stars Snacp, crackle, Pop...Garbage!!, March 15, 2011
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
SO i bought one of these having had one about 8 years ago, and never experiencing any problems with(the system it was in was stolen). Well, i was finally building a good music production PC again and immeditatly went with this one having loved it so much in the past. My system was built flawlessly with zero issues. Upon my first attempt to use the card, poppy, noise, static. I did everything to attempt to fix this; Removed all sound card drivers and uninstalled all soundcards, then just reinstalled the delta drivers. I tweaked the bios, updated it(not recommended, luckily i had no issues)I switched everything, the only result i got was a variation of the noise. The card was then tested out in a XP system with original drivers, NO PROBLEMS. This is ridiculous. This company needs to get their stuff together, if there is issues with the 7 drivers on anyones system, this is a problem that needs to be fixed. If Google it you will find tons of people with this issues, coming from various computer backgrounds. Avoid this card like the plague. I installed a old Audigy platinum eax i had laying around, worked fine. What a joke, 140 dollar card vs. 20 dollar card, 20 dollar card wins, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! There is some creative Emu cards out there which are fairly similar to the delta and have similar price. i recommended those, this thing is garbage, M Audio should be ashamed of themselves!

1.0 out of 5 stars pops and clicks, October 17, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
This card is terrible. Do a search for Delta 44 and "pops and clicks" and you'll find hundreds of other people with the same problem as me: pops and clicks in the audio when recording. I have spent HOURS on the phone with them and tweaking my system and nothing works.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with G5, November 16, 2004
This review is from: M-Audio DELTA 44 24/96 PCI Digital Professional Audio Card (Personal Computers)
DO NOT--- I repeat, DO NOT buy this pci card if you have a Mac G5. It is filled with pops and clicks. It IS NOT a reliable way to record/listen to audio. At first, it worked great with my pc, but when I had them alter the software for Mac G5 (for $50) it does not work hardly at all. Buy a firewire audio card if you have a G5.
