I tried these out on some scrap bathroom wall tile to get a feel for their chipping ability. I was impressed with the ease and accuracy of the snipping and was able to nip out a one inch half circle easily and without breaking the tile. They are also comfortable to hold and the construction is sturdy. Just remember to take really small bites and these nippers should serve you well.

Ths works pretty good. Doesn't hurt my hand. It takes patience though. Good for small cuts you can't do on a big cutter and for irregular cuts. You will end up breaking a few tile. Just think small, and "nibble" small pieces at a time.

These gems can't be beat for the price. Easy to use, clean cuts, etc. The snip is deep enough (just over 1/2 inch). The width is just right - small enough for intricate work, wide enough to avoid snipping a billion times. Nice handles and locking safety.
Get these, you'll be happy you did. I'm keeping these for the long run.

I found these hard to use and ended up giving up on them. It seemed to take a lot of pressure to get them to "nip" and they were hard to hold and handle. I used other tools for our tiling project and found that the cheap tile saw, while wet and messy to use, was able to do everything needed with a bit of patience.

I'm a woman with small hands, and I was nervous to use the Compound Tile Nippers initially, thinking that it would be too difficult for me to hold a tile in one hand while trying to nip it with this thing in my other hand. It was a great surprise to find that using this tile nipper was so easy! With little effort, I was able to nip the tiles into the shapes I wanted without exerting a lot of force. The cuts were clean, and this nipper was really easy to use. I'm beginning to think I need to find more projects that utilized tiles soon! Highly recommended.

I purchased these nippers when starting on my third tile bathroom. Man, I wish I had found them sooner! They are sooooo much easier to use than the cheapie, non-compound ones I got at Lowes. These didn't hurt my hands and no blisters.
I have a wet saw, too, which I use for all the big, straight cuts. But for curved cuts or for cutting small tiles, a tile nipper is essential. There is a learning curve, and I suggest you purchase a couple of extra tiles to practice on if you haven't used nippers before. I have also found that scoring the tile where you want the cut first (with a scoring tool) gives me almost perfect results! As another reviewer mentioned, take small "nibbles" rather than trying to nip off a big chunk. Once you get the hang of it, these nippers let you work quickly and accurately without the hand fatigue.

I bought this tool to use on my slate flooring job in a bathroom. The nippers were too small for this job. They were useless. Not sure what they are made for....I guess if you have paper thin tile it would work.

Helped me complete a small tile job without renting a wet saw. Just remember to take small nibbles to avoid cracking tile.
