Book Description

Where would you draw the line between right and wrong?

When a wanted hacker from the '80s resurfaces with the means and intent to overthrow what he perceives to be a corrupt government, this question becomes of paramount importance to the future of the country. Scott Carver is asked to make this decision when the hacker asks him to help plan a revolution.

While eluding authorities for decades, M.O.D. has pirated trillions of dollars in funds and equipment for his rebellion. He aims to topple the government in the name of the Constitution and its founding fathers. Is he maniacal? ... or is he right?

Review

This is an awesome book! Ever wonder what it would be like to take back our country, to give the country back to the people? This is a story of Utopia, and hackers and AWESOME computers! I don't know how to tell about this story, without giving it away, but it's a real page-turner... ~ L. Mihay

From the Author

It takes a brave person to stand up and fight for what is right. At one time, there was no shortage of such valiant individuals; now they seem to be rare, indeed.

In this day, more than ever, evil is allowed to grow unchecked - and in many cases sanctioned by the oppressed - because of the prevailing, apathetic attitude: "Not my problem." Tyranny and oppression are everyone's problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast action, great characters January 7, 2014
By Ignite
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a great, action-packed conspiracy and computer-hacking story which I enjoyed very much. Scott and his FBI partner Sheelia are on the trail of a group which is threatening the government, not by the traditional terrorist tactics but by telling people of their corruption and ineptitude. Thousands of services personnel and items of equipment, up to and including planes, have gone missing. People are joining the renegade group. Scott decides to infiltrate and becomes impressed by the group and its aims. His partner is still on the government's side.

I enjoyed the pace and the characters of this story. I have no idea how much of the computer-techy stuff is feasible but the story carried me along. It was a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW Great Read! June 8, 2011
By Tammy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The FBI agents Sheelia & Scott are tracking a cyber criminal, little did they know -this chase would be the chase of their careers. If only it had been a simple cyber criminal but they find themselves at the center of one of the most insidious plots to overthrow the Government ever staged in U.S. history. The real question becomes who are the bad guys? Unable to make up my own mind, I just had to follow these two agents to the end.

I started reading this book 3 days ago and I found myself unable to put it down until it was finished. The author does an amazing job of transporting you to the center of this conflict and keeping you on the edge of your seat until the conclusion. A very fast paced and engaging thriller that I highly recommend !

5.0 out of 5 stars heart-pounding thriller June 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
M.O.D. started off quickly and kept the intensity all the way through.

The best hackers in the world are in a fight to the death. The opposing group of our current lifestyle, want to start over in the country..... writing new laws and electing new leaders for our society. So the question is.....Who ARE the good guys, and who ARE the bad guys?

I would suggest the book to anyone who enjoys a great suspense/thriller novel, with a futuristic twist. Author J.C.Allen writes extremely well, creating a totally believable story. The strong men and women characters are intense, passionate individuals, for whom fighting to the death might be the only option to save the world as we know it. When current politics, military forces from several countries, and high level technology collide, the end result is terrifying. The book is written so well, the story is so strong, and the author describes the details so well, it could be made into an excellent Hollywood blockbuster, right now.

Enjoy the wild ride!

Whose side will you be on?

4.0 out of 5 stars M.O.D. J.C. Allen December 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The hunt is on for the elusive M.O.D., which I'll divulge because the author, J.C. Allen, gives it away early on: Maintaining Our Democracy.
This book is not just hi-tech, it's on the cutting edge, as FBI agent Sheelia Tanner, and pretty much the entire government, pursue M.O.D and his people, who are intent on toppling the government and dedicated to giving the country back to the people.
Young FBI agent Scott Carver joins the M.O.D. endeavor when he comes to realize that it's a noble cause which harks back to the founding father's vision of what the U.S.A. should be, politically and socially, sans corruption and greedy politicians and businessmen.
Try as they might, the government cannot get to first base in locating the hiding place of some pretty heavy stolen military machinery, and tracing M.O.D himself.
The plot twists nicely when the government employs a former rival and enemy of M.O.D who has some tricks up his own sleeve.
Author J.C. Allen is at ease at the helm, while he navigates the intriguing innards of technology. If you are engrossed by the cogs and wheels of hi-tech machinery, then he will engage you in this intelligently written and smoothly executed novel.
The characters are contemporary and sophisticated. The dialogue is breezy and believable.
I found the premise a bit preachy on the current ills of our political and social systems. But that's just the premise, and not the thrust of the novel.
I'm giving M.O.D. four stars. While hi-tech stories are not my meat, I can see how it is an intriguing read for those who enjoy this type of story.

5.0 out of 5 stars W.O.W, June 25, 2011

This is an awesome book! Ever wonder what it would be like to take back our country, and make it better? Not a coup, for power and control, like almost all coups, but to give the country back to the people. This is a story of Utopia, and hackers and AWESOME computers! I don't know how to tell about this story, without giving it away, but it's a real page-turner and well-worth the "terribly expensive" price of 99 cents.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun and interesting book with many twists September 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Let's say that you were a hacker with 20+ years experience in manipulating phone lines, internet, etc. Now, let's add in the fact that you have watched the government grow more and more corrupt as you travel through life, to the extend that your wife is killed while working for the CIA and nothing is done by the government. Given the amount of (illegally procured from large corrupt businesses and politicians) money that you have accumulated, you decide to create a sanctuary for people with similar ideas.

You don't want to kill people, but you're willing to defend yourself and to do what it takes to fix the government. And you make sure that the corrupt government knows this.

Welcome to the world of M.O.D., where tens of thousands of military, scientists, and doctors have defected from the US Government to live in the sanctuary. Where people live with advances in technology and medicine that we can only dream of. And where an FBI agent realizes that he is on the wrong side of the battle.

I'm not going to tell you that this book is perfect. When I first started reading it, I was skeptical of everything that the M.O.D. was supposed to be able to do, and how the people responded. But I gave it a chance. And I'm glad that I did, because I found the characters and the storyline to be fun and enjoyable. Yes, some of the technology they have is way far out, but if an enclave of some of the most intelligent people in the country had unlimited money and could experiment without needing to deal with government restrictions and red-tape, I could see them coming up with a number of the advances, if not all. Besides, it's fiction. There are also some political messages in here regarding anti-corruption/anti-government, but you know...
