From the Manufacturer

About M-Pro 7

The M-Pro7 Military Grade Gun Cleaning System contains effective tools for the military, law enforcement and other professional weapon experts that aid in mission readiness, combat operations and support pollution prevention initiatives. This revolutionary gun cleaning system was developed for use on all rifles, handguns, shotguns, machine guns, grenade launchers, mortars, crew served weaponry and more. M-Pro7 is commercially transportable worldwide and reduces maintenance time by up to 80%.

M-Pro7 Gun Cleaner

Professional-grade cleaning system for military style weaponry

Vital to maintaining weapon reliability and performance by removing layers of fouling, embedded carbon, and conditioning the bore to help prevent future build-up.

  • Significantly cuts cleaning time.
  • Improves accuracy and reliability.
  • Conditions to reduce future fouling.
  • Removes carbon, lead and most copper fouling.
  • Odorless, non-toxic, biodegradable, and non-flamable.

How does M-Pro 7 Work?

When a weapon is fired, carbon residue is deposited within the bore. The carbon becomes embedded in the micropores of the bore steel. Chips of lead and/or copper from the projectiles break loose and are also deposited onto the bore steel. Each time the weapon is fired additional layers of carbon and fouling are created. Over time, this build up negatively affects weapon trajectory and performance.

At a basic molecular level, M-Pro7 surrounds the surface of each individual carbon particle with a negatively charged coating causing the carbon particles to repel each other. This forces the carbon particles to break up and separate allowing the carbon and embedded fouling (copper, lead, brass, plastic, etc.) be easily brushed out.

Traditional solvents remove carbon from the bore, cleaning away loose surface carbon and fouling, but have a limited affect on the carbon bonded to the bore steel and embedded in the micropores. M-Pro7 removes all the layers of carbon embedded fouling for optimal weapon maintenance and performance.

M-Pro 7 Military Grade Gun Cleaner - Microscopic Cleaning and Conditioning

Imbedded carbon fouling acts as the bond for surface carbon and metal fouling.

Traditional solvents remove less than 50% of the carbon fouling and have little effect on metal fouling.

Copper and lead removers corrode metal fouling, but have little effect on imbedded or surface carbon fouling.

M-Pro 7 Cleaner removes up to 98% of all carbon fouling allowing metal fouling to easily brush out.

My wife and I shoot approximately 400 rounds a week, and I clean our guns every time, so I was looking for a functionally good cleaner, and hoping for a less noxious odor than that of many cleaners I've used. Hoppe's has been around since I was a kid, so they must do something right, and this cleaner is an example of their attention to consumer requirements. I can clean all our guns (we usually shoot 3 or 4 every outing), in less than an hour. I used to soak the barrels of our Glocks for 40 Mins. in a sealed plastic bag just to loosen the copper, or lead (357 Mag). Now, I spray them, brush with a nylon brush, and let them sit while I clean the other parts, and when I swab the barrels, they have always come totally clean. The oder is actually pleasent.
I also use the M-Pro 7 oil to wipe down all the metal and swab the barrels, followed by a good rub-down with a clean cotton cloth / patch.
I think Hoppe's has a winning product in the M-Pro 7 series.

I tested this out by cleaning two guns which got really dirty. The first was a Euroarms Rogers & Spencer black powder revolvers, through which I put about 40 rounds. The second was a 1945-vintage M-1944 Mosin-Nagant carbine, through which I put about 50 early 1960s Soviet surplus 7.62x54R and 5 Hungarian surplus rounds. The Soviet surplus is some of the dirtiest "smokeless" ammo that I've fired.

With both guns patches came out of the bore clean after about 5 or 6 wet patches through the bore. I followed up with Ballistol to verify nothing was being left behind by the M-Pro 7 and they too, came out clean.

Aside from being an effective fouling remover, what is remarkable about M-Pro 7 is that it's pretty much odorless and gives off no fumes. According to the MSDS it doesn't contain anything especially nasty, and is readily biodegradeable. (Google "m-pro 7 msds" and you can find it on the maker's website.)

After years of using smelly, carcinogenic gun cleaners I think I have a new favorite.

My husband bought this on the advice of a friend. Awesome cleaner, BUT...it did damage to the blueing on any anodized surface. Worked really well on the non-anodized surfaces such as my Springfield xd. so...all in all-wonderful product but don't use on anodized materials!!!

The MPRO7 family of chemicals is a good one. The cleaner is fantastic, but if you read about it on their website it has a 2 year shelf life once opened. I haven't had my bottle long enough for that to happen however it's expensive stuff and I hate to think some will be wasted.

I was using Hoppe's #9 and could no longer stand the stink. Bought some M-Pro 7 cleaner after using their gun oil which I was highly pleased with. This cleaner is amazing especially for bore cleaning. With Hoppe's I had to use about 20 patches after soaking it to come fairly clean on my Colt 1911 Series 70. With the M-Pro 7 cleaner, I sprayed/soaked it for 10 minutes, then followed with 2 wet patches and then 3 dry patches and it came out 100% clean. Plus there is NO smell to this M-Pro 7 cleaner! Threw out the Hoppe's!!

This cleans and polishes great but maybe too good. It cleared off the finish on my sig p238 on the first cleaning of this new pistol. It is very easy to work around because of the low offensive odor if any.

I've used this product several times I must say it makes cleaning any firearm a bit easier.I go to the range a lot & so far own 17 firearms pistols from Glock 19 to Springfield XDM & XDS & 1911 to Glock 20 as well as Ak-47 pistol & rifle & SIg p556 Daniel Defense Saiga 12.My point is some firearms do get much dirtier than others & M-Pro 7 makes cleaning all these firearms a bit easier than some of those other expensive name brands out there I've used in the past.Would give it 5 stars but I wouldn't go as far as saying it perfect or the best.
