There's really not much to say -- this is just a simple, reversible aluminum wok ring. It does what it's supposed to just fine on both gas and electric ranges. It's big enough even when inverted to fit over the large burners on most stoves.

I've been trying to get away from teflon flat bottom woks and go with the traditional iron round woks. The issue is that the wok was too unstable on my stove. Buying this wok ring worked wonders for making it much more stable. I can now place it on my stove flipped upside down from the posted photo and get the gas flame directly on the iron wok. If I bring the wok to the table I bring the wok ring and place it as shown in the original photo to make an easy way of serving food from the wok.

Works great on my 15" wok on a Kenmore iron top gas range.

I have never really written reviews on Amazon, but after reading all the other reviews about this wok ring, it seems like no one else had the same problem as I did so I thought I should make it known. I bought this ring in conjunction with the Joyce Chen Classic Series 4-Piece Carbon-Steel Wok Set, and the ring was suggested with the wok, so I figured....it's a wok ring, what could be bad about it? I have an electric stove and the ring does not fit around my big burner which has a 7.5" burner on top of a drip pan that measures 9 11/16" across. The ring is 10" on the bigger side, so it might be the fault of my drip pan (not sure what industry standard sizes are), but the ring doesn't sit all the way down in order to be stable....it rides up on it a little and is unusable because it moves around all over the place. Not something I'd want to deal with when you have sizzling oil in a hot wok. If the ring were a little bit bigger (and I'm talking a millimeter or two), it would be perfect. Turns out that having it on that side raises my wok up too high and never gets that hot. The smaller side fits great over the smaller burner of my stove, but the wok sits so deep with it that it's right in contact with the burner, which nullifies the whole reason of having the ring in the first place. I may as well use the wok without the ring.

The big beef I had with the ring is that while I was using it for the first time, I noticed these silver colored flecks of paint flying around, which I thought was from the bottom of the wok so I lifted it up to see what it was. When I did, I discovered that the metal paint was from the ring itself, and after being close to high heat, whatever coating there was on the ring was peeling off and floating around. When I lifted the wok, this stuff got EVERYWHERE!

This is your average wok ring. It works fine and is worth the inexpensive ammount of money. It makes stir fry so much better

Ring is not round. Wok wobbles sitting on it. I took a picture of the wok to inform the seller of the condition but the seller rejected it. I have to pay postage to return it for a new one. From the look of the design, I have no confidence that a new one would be any better. So I kept it but am not using it. A wasted purchase.

The wok ring I purchased was really what I was looking for. It would be perfect if it was just a little taller. I've used it and am satisfied.

At first, pots and pans seem to stand on this ring properly. However after first use, the aluminum coating peels off immediately. Going to return this right away.

The wok ring is OK for a 14 inch or smaller wok. Even though it was recommended for my 16 inch wok, it is too small and as a result, the wok bowl sits too high over my gas flame. My wok actually works better without the wok ring. If you have a smaller wok, I believe the bowl of the wok would be closer to the flames.
