4.0 out of 5 stars A nice post for most cyclists
I've actually got three of these- two with the built in alloy clamp (the lightest configuration) and one without the clamp.
There is no wobble on the post without the clamp, there is slight 1/8" wobble on one of the others, and a little more, almost 1/4" on the last one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wobble
The seat post moves up and down, and left to right. I was looking for something that only went up and down, I guess that's why these ones are going for so cheap. There is not a thing you can do to stop it from wobbling left and right, I guess you could weld it and make into a regular seat post without the suspension. I already have one of those though, I guess I just...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly made, April 14, 2010

Within a week of using this, the inside mechanism broke. I took it apart and tried to fix it, but the plastic piece that holds it together was done. Don't waste your time on this post, because once it breaks inside, there are too many parts, so you'll have to glue or weld it together just to not twist as you ride.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, works fine, but not great, March 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Very cheap, looks nice, works fine. However, it cannot hold the seat tight in side ways. While biking, the seat swings (slightly though). For the price, not a bad deal, but not a great deal either.

I've actually got three of these- two with the built in alloy clamp (the lightest configuration) and one without the clamp.
There is no wobble on the post without the clamp, there is slight 1/8" wobble on one of the others, and a little more, almost 1/4" on the last one.

You can adjust the tension of the spring by turning the protruding ring under the rubber sheath at the bottom, but a quick trial of that just now didn't seem to much affect the respective wobble of the two I have mounted.
I have them on bikes with motors, so I'm not concerned so much with the wobble as with the shock benefits- if it was on my road bike, I might be more annoyed, but not botherd by very slight 1/8" wobble now that I'm a geezer.

I've been around bikes for a lifetime and worked in many shops, and this part is actually machined well and very nice looking otherwise- and at a great price you wouldn't see 30 years ago. They should try to eliminate any wobble, and the differing here is not good to see. But I would recommend it for casual cyclists who want a shock post- if it's more than 1/4" wobble- I'd return.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Fit, December 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Correct size post for my bike is 27.2mm. This unit will not fit. I measured the diameter and it varies between 27.3mm and 27.4mm.I tried it in 5 bikes but doesn't fit any of them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bobble Head, December 19, 2010
This review is from: M-Wave Alloy Bicycle Suspension Seat Post with Clamp (Sports)
When the post 1st arrived it "seemed" well made for the money. WRONG! Its also a bit heavy for its size and not quite as long as advertised, but it did fit fine. After just ONE 8 mile MTB ride the seat post lets the seat twist side to side and the up/down movement is "bouncy". The front of the seat moves over an inch left to right. There is no way to fix this since its the main parts that allow the movement. I'll be returning mine. Its only $13 but IMO not worth putting on your bike even if it was FREE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value! Works great!, January 16, 2010

The suspension seatpost on my wife's K2 tailwind broke, and I was dreading the bill if I took it to a bike shop. For $13, this is a great deal. If anything, it seems to be of higher quality than the one that came with the bike. With the integrated seat clamp, installation took all of 2 minutes. Gives a nice cushy ride, and is a good match for a comfort bike. Highly recommended and a great value!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it., October 26, 2011

This thing is terrific. It takes the bang out of the bumps very nicely, and for cheap. I hesitated before buying it because of the negative reviews about side-to-side give. I've been riding to work on it for a few months now, and I haven't noticed this at all. What I have noticed is a much smoother ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shock seat post - A real butt saver, September 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Butt saver indeed! I get around in summer mostly on my bike, but at my age (and a few vehicle crashes) my back and rear end needs extra cushion on the rough bike trails. I was a bit dubious at the price of 14 bucks and the reviews at Amazon was luke warm - but so glad I took a chance. This is the cat's meow without a doubt.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very decent seatpost!, December 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It's awesome. There's nothing wrong with it, comes nicely packaged, and works great. You can also adjust the tension of the spring inside the seatpost for total comfort. It works great!
