This is a cute little bike. We have friends who bought it for their kids and love it. We bought if for our two year old for Christmas and he is barely tall enough, but will be by summer. It was easy to assemble and is sturdy and well made....Except for the tires. The tires do not inflate with a standard bike nozzle, you will have to purchase a special one at a bike shop. That wasn't a big deal and the front one inflated with no problem. The rear tire did not work, so we went back to the bike shop and bought a new inner tube for it (which comes with a standard nozzle). This was a five dollar purchase, but although my husband had replaced inner tubes before, it was very labor intensive to get the tire on and off and we almost took it to the bike shop to have them do it. Now it is a great bike. I think for the price it was worth the hassle, but since the other reviews had the same problem, it may be a typical one instead of a rare case.

Received the bike and assembled it. Tried to inflate the tires but could not figure out how to keep air in them. The stems are rather similar to giant prestas but I could not get them to trap air. Looked high and low on the internet to find these stems and specifically how they worked but failed. I finally gave up and purchased new tubes with schrader stems. Other than the extra eight bucks I had to spend for tubes the bike worked great and was loved by my grand daughter.

need air pump valve adapter,
This review is from: M-Wave Child's Wooden Running Bike (Tiger) (Sports)
I agree with the previous review that the valve is not standard. My husband took the bike to sports authority and got a slime brand air pump value adapter for $[...]. It worked but not easy because the valve was already very tall and with the adapter, it was pretty hard to screw the air pump value onto it. As for the air leaking, I have to make sure the rubber on the valve insert and the top round thing is tight. Once I start pumping and don't hear the air leaking, I know I've got that down. Only takes a minute to pull out and reinsert. But yes there is no instruction anywhere. Hope this review helps other to figure it out. The price is the cheapest I can find among similar type bikes and the construction is pretty sturdy so far but we just got it so I don't know if it'll hold up or not. I'll have to come back and repost if I have any problems.

cute but flawed,
This review is from: M-Wave Child's Wooden Running Bike (Tiger) (Sports)
I got this because I thought my daughter would enjoy the cuteness, and the price is cheaper than the leading brand, Skuut. My daughter does like the character aspect but I, as the mechanic of the house, I have issues. First, the steering mechanism is not as sophisticated as the Skuut, ok, but kind of wobbly; the handlebars are not as durable either, which is important cause the handles will be hitting the ground a lot. And, indeed, this model's handles have needed to be glued and mended with a very minimal of light use. The Skuut has one solid piece that goes all the way through, this M-Wave has poorly glued pieces that fail. Also, the valves on the inner-tubes were of some sort of standard my presta/ schrader valve pump did not work on. So now that I've replaced the inner-tubes with new ones I've come near to what the Skuut would have cost me. And now, even though my daughter does dig the little kitty character, I look longingly at the Skuuts on the playground that are oh so much more valuable. Sorry M-Wave, i really tried to like this.

This bike is kinda wobbly in the front. and the tires DO NOT have normal air valves so you can not pump them up with a tire pump. not sure how my husband finaly got them pumped up but he was not a happy camper on christmas eve...

I bought two of these bikes, and was impressed at how easy they were to assemble, although they gave me the wrong screws in both boxes (in one they included phillips-head screws but gave me a allen key for them, and in the other box the screws were too short & wide). I also had to use some wood glue to keep the handle bars from falling off.
I had the same experience as everyone else with the tires: I took them to the local bike shop, and they put new tubes on them and they had to go to a parts store and get a new stem to air the tires up, so it cost me an additional $35 to get them ride-ready. So, once that ordeal was over, my kids loved them! They are a great way to increase confidence and help the kids learn balance.

Like other reviewers, I got this because it was cheaper than other running bikes and my daughter would like the Tiger look of it. Unfortunately as others have said, the inner tubes that came with this bike aren't the US standard Schrader valves as commonly found on many bikes and cars. They also are not the Presta valves common to higher end bikes. The valve type is a Dunlop or Woods valve. I have a pretty good assortment of bike tools, and a Woods valve adapter is not among them. A Presta valve pump should work to inflate, but there is so little room inside the rim that my pump won't fit. Going to try a few other things, but will likely end up having to spend more money on a pair of inner tubes for a brand new bike. At least I started putting it together before Christmas Eve.
