Outstanding Quality and Wonderful Design, March 19, 2009
This review is from: M-Edge Platform Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Pebbled Fuchsia (Accessory)
I received my book cover today and I am more than pleased!
The leather is soft and supple and the workmanship is exceptional. The price tag is not cheap, so I expected a quality item. M-edge certainly delivered. It is a very rich looking jacket.
The kindle 2 fits into the jacket like a glove. I had no issues getting it into the jacket, and the fit is perfectly snug and secure, but not at all 'tight', as some other reviewers have said. It is comfortable to hold and the one inch left edge provides a comfortable place to rest your thumb, allowing you to keep your hands off the kindle completely until you're ready for a page turn.
The fold back cover also works flawlessly to allow a secure stand for hands-free reading. A previous reviewer stated that the hands-free design is flawed, causing the kindle to lean forward. I don't find this to be the case at all. In fact, the cover even allows for minor adjustment, allowing you to easily pull the cover forward or push it back, as needed, for the best view.
When closed, the soft suede cover lays flat against the kindle, protecting it from any foreign objects coming between the cover and the screen, despite the open sides.
All in all, the jacket is perfect, with one small caveat: The color IS indeed a deep pink and darker than the picture, rather than a true fuchsia. So, if you are expecting a true fuchsia cover, you may be disappointed. Regardless, the color is quite lovely and the jacket is so well made and classy looking that you'll be proud to carry it.

Not secure, April 17, 2009
This review is from: M-Edge Platform Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Pebbled Fuchsia (Accessory)
The color is good, the leather is very nice, the lining is spiffy, but I just don't feel it protects my expensive Kindle well. The Kindle is just not held securely enough -- the top elastic holders tend to slip off & allow the Kindle to pop out. I can't tell you the number of times I've reached into my purse & pull it out only to find that the Kindle itself has "escaped" from the cover, sliding out of the top because those little corner tabs came loose. I'm also not wild about the outside closure; I would prefer something that latches shut rather than just a leather tab that slides into a slot.

Great Cover for the Kindle 2, March 26, 2009
This review is from: M-Edge Platform Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Pebbled Fuchsia (Accessory)
My much-anticipated cover for the Kindle 2 arrived today. I was somewhat worried about what it was going to be like, after reading the reviews of the cover for the Kindle 1, but am happy to report that M-Edge has worked out the issues such as the cover holder interfering with the power switch. This version holds the Kindle securely in a way that doesn't interfere with any of the controls. The extra space on the left hand side is just enough space on which to clip my little Z Light booklight so that I can read without a regular light on.
The color, as others have mentioned, is a deep pink. I was slightly taken aback at first, but it IS pink and quite a lovely color. I ordered pink so that it would be obvious that this cover is on MY kindle, not my husband's (he has the black cover from Amazon). I like my cover better because it does allow one to stand the Kindle up - making it possible for me to use my Kindle as a recipe book (since I have exported my recipe files to text and e-mailed them to myself, a very cool feature of the Kindle). I've even taken the plunge and am trying out a newspaper to see if reading it with breakfast works out well; not so sure about that as there is the need to turn the pages on a fairly regular basis.
Anyway, I have apparently digressed from the main topic, which is that this cover is well made, quite sturdy, and causes no issues with operating the Kindle. Its interior is soft enough to rest against the screen without damage, and there is a nice "extra space" on the left where a book light will indeed clip if you want. I am thrilled with it, even more so because I can now safely take my Kindle with me when I leave the house.
