Any carbine lover knows all about his carbine, how it works, how it shoots, and how it feels in your hands. This manual is a great addition but not a must have. Very informative on operation, cleaning, field stripping, and reassembly. Great gift for a new carbine owner.

I recently purchased my first M1 carbine, and was looking for a for a maintenance manual for them. I found this manual perfect for a beginner and now feel confident about tearing down the rifle for cleaning and maintenance. I would recommend it to new M1 owners like me and would serve as a good reference for experienced owners.

You will have to wade through this manual and pick out the information you really need to know. This manual was not written for reading, but more as an instructional manual. Have your Carbine available for review and wish that you have a drill instructor standing behind making you read everything because it is easy to miss important information - take your time.

Overall this is a detailed and well written manual, but dry and boring. It will allow you the opportunity to learn everything you need to know to disassemble, clean, reassemble, test and sight in your rifle.
