5.0 out of 5 stars Great Historical Source for Post War Garands, December 30, 2010

Scott Duff's "Green Book" is everything the M1 owner needs to know about shooting their Garand. Conversely, this "Blue Book" is everything the post war collector needs to know. Like all Duff books, they are laid in a simple yet logical manner that flows well thus making the content easy to understand.

As stated above, this book is geared mostly towards the collector whom is concerned with verifying a rifle as original or making a rifle "correct." The first half of the book is focused on Springfield Armory and how its history influences the collector. There is a smaller but sufficient amount of information on International Harvester and Harrington and Richardson M1s as well.

The other portion contains pictures of various parts, their drawing/serial numbers and the corresponding years of production.

So if you're building, refurbishing or "correcting" a post 1945 M1 Garand this book is for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars very good book, December 3, 2011

this is a very good book. BUT, it has limited information about the IHC and H&R M1's from the late 1950's. BUT, the little information it does have will be enough for you to figure out if your Garand is "correct" and it will help you figure out what parts to replace to make it correct. for the price it is a good book to buy. it helped me investigate my 1956 H&R M1.
