Dauntlessly singing into the void that was left behind since Saturdays=Youth, Gonzalez suddenly surges with overwhelming emotion as the music mounts an invisible precipice. Historically, he softly eased… Read more in Amazon's M83 Store

5.0 out of 5 stars addictive and catchy, August 14, 2003

A wonderful, whirling mix of curling, glitchy beats, electroclash and buzzing shoegazery. "Carresses" is the album's most beautiful track; the stop-start beats, ambient synths and yearning guitar riff create a gorgeous melody that really washes over you. Lovely..

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!, January 24, 2005
This review is from: M83 (Audio CD)
Very good cd. I will not compare to Dead Cities...because they are different. I like them both. And if you are trying to find this cd and they only list 14 tracks it is ok. That is the whole cd.
I bought a sealed copy from someone in Japan and it included a
Gooom Autumn 2002 promo disc with various artists from the label. I paid around $27 including shipping and I can say it was worth it. I really like the promo cd but if you don't get, you are not missing any M83. I do hope they evetually release domestically so everyone can hear it, but I could not wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars fondling perfection, January 20, 2005

better than "Dead Cities..." if you are going to compare. which is easy to do cause they both have similar sounds. not that I like comparing too much.
this album drifts in and out of my conciousness and every listen I hear something new that makes me think that I heard this as a small child playing in the snow.
kind of like Boards of Canada creeps me out cause I swear they downloaded subliminal childhood memories like in "Contact".
