It's fairly loud when they vibrate but I simply put some tape over them and they function normally and no more rattle.

I recommend this to ANYONE in search of a great surround sound system for a party or just a TV it will really get you moving, especially if you're on a tight budget.
A. Polus

The MA audio system is good for the price its listed for. I was skeptical at first about this system. I only use the Aux out put. Haven't tried the 5.1 surround sound. Works great. I use it for music. The bass is very nice, it can be turn up pretty loud with out distortion and the speakers are great. The things that aren't as great are the wiring that is sent with the system and the remote. But the wiring can be purchased at Wal-mart for a cheap price so not that big of a deal. The remote on the other hand only works at certain angles and doesn't reach that far. But other then that.. If you have a small budget and was huge sound.. This item is worth [...]..

I must say, I really thought I was sticking it to the man by getting a "$300 system for only $120." Well truth be told, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for this. I only had it out of the box for maybe 45 minutes, trying to find the best options for sound. It went right back into the box. Let's run through a few things:

Speakers:
Sound: the sound quality was okay, but far from great. At low volumes, there was a constant static/buzz sound. I tried switching ports for all of the speakers, and it didn't help. All 5 outputs had the same noise. Of the 5 speakers, only 1 worked. 2 kind of worked, in the sense that they made sound when turned up real loud, but they would only work about half of the time. 2 speakers were very quiet and sounded like maybe only %30 of the signal was getting through. And then 1 speaker was so quiet that you had to put your ear to it and turn the main unit up all the way to barely hear anything.
Quality: I could probably build a better quality speaker using plastic forks. They are made of an incredibly cheap plastic. There are ZERO ports for them, regardless of their appearance! There is a small hole in the front that looks like a port, but it only goes in about 1 inch and stops. Don't be fooled, it's only for looks.
Specs: the speakers, from the very bottom to very top, are probably only about 5 inches tall, and maybe 3 inches wide. The blue circle on the front is a little piece of plastic, not an actual light, regardless of how it looks. Not that it really matters, but don't expect to have a bunch of blue lights all around the room.

Unit:
Bass: Like a few other reviews, this system lacks a dominant bass. There is a little bit, but only when cranked up to about %80 max or higher.

Take a look at the price and if you do not buy this product at 33% of it's retail price then you are a fool. Unless of course you are rich but I can almost guarantee you that no surround sound system will give you the same output for under $100. Not even $300! If you go $400... well now that's a different story. First of Pros! This unit has great volume (75 db) although I wish it was 80 but it's fine. The sub woofer is totally sick for 300 Watts! it has a cool light up ring in the front so you can easily spot it in a dark room with the lights off and the music blasting, and also the fact that you can adjust each and every speaker as well as the sub woofer individually just gives you another reason why it's a great buy. I was shocked that this did not go for at least $150 cause it would still be worth it 100%. The Cons sadly are that the speakers themselves do not have very long reach(roughly 12 feet 4 inches for the back and I think 5 feet 9 inches? for the center and front). I had to personally spend about $28 with shipping on cables online to allow corner to corner coverage but that's a pretty great deal! Also the speakers do not have bolt holes implemented on their backside for mounting so I spent about $50 on 5 shelves from Lowes to hang them up along with speaker clips which at first I bought a size too small but a pack of 100 goes for about $6 (the RCA cable fitted ones). The sub does show it's weakness at max volume for very intense bass songs but it kind of sounds cool to be honest but yeah it won't hit THAT hard unfortunately although for the great deal it is pretty good. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference it makes in your music. I no longer use my iLuv speakers which broke (but I have 2 sets).Read more ›

This has some option to force all the speakers to work, instead of 2.1 you get that fake 5.1.( Works well with Netflix HD 5.1. apparently it will work right if you have the right 5.1 Profile) Prologic? Well I can tell whats happening behind me and the sound from in front of me is different.. works well with my Playstation 3 and Netflix

I bought this thing to replace my weak TV speakers... this thing... makes explosions in video games and movies sound.. ok... BUT ITS SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN MY TV SPEAKERS!

At a higher volume... it sucks.. but its cheap so whatever right? Out of 00~99 10~35 is awesome Even at 48 is ok.. but anything after that is either too loud or you loss a lot of clarity. this set is great to playing music when I have people over. You can hear music even from all the way outside and on the other side of the house.

I don't think anyone on a budget will regret this buy..
