DO NOT BUY THESE! Very poor quality. I had to use an average of 3 covers to make it right. The poor quality of the thin cover either got peeled off together with the outer layer or got punched through by the thermometer. I repeat - DO NOT BUY THESE!

I agree they are not well designed. You need to be extra careful in removing the paper cover if you want to keep the plastic probe cover from tearing. However if you don't want to buy a new thermometer and must purchase these covers, Target has a box of forty for less than $2.00 sold under the Up&Up brand.
