4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Realistic Fighting Game
I'm an avid Arcade - Martial Arts Game fan and I bought this game because I was used to playing the arcade version. The N64 version seems more responsive than the arcade version with the same level of 3D graphics. It is one of the best and most realistic of the martial arts game genre. 3.0 out of 5 stars typical n64 fighting game
mace is a weapon based fighting game. it seems pretty uninspired for the most part. i think it was trying to be something different than other fighters out on the market at the time, however it was not any better than the others. as for weapons based combat, soul caliber it is not. you just hack and slash slowly and ungracefully until one of you wins. i wouldn't recomend...

4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Realistic Fighting Game, November 16, 1999

I'm an avid Arcade - Martial Arts Game fan and I bought this game because I was used to playing the arcade version. The N64 version seems more responsive than the arcade version with the same level of 3D graphics. It is one of the best and most realistic of the martial arts game genre. The variety of fighters, their styles, and their combinations of moves keep me from getting bored. I'm still on my quest to find a game I like better. It is pure adrenaline on a widescreen with the sound system turned up to 11!

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Intense Fighting!, November 25, 2001
This review is from: MACE: The Dark Age (Video Game)
This is a great game! The game play is intense, lots of spectacular moves that aren't too hard to learn. The graphics are really well done and there are lots of arenas to fight in, making the game interesting. It's not the best fighting game, but it's really good and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys fighting games.

I bought this game used a couple of years ago ..... I'm not quite sure why these guys are charging [their price] though. In this game its cool cause they do all the normal punches, kicks, and combos of normal fighting games but then they all also have weapons such as swords, axes, spikey balls on a chain, etc. This game is tons of fun for years and even though I own an XBOX and a couple games for it I still place Mace occaisionally.

4.0 out of 5 stars My kids LOVE this game..., January 26, 2000

and I must admit that I enjoy it, too. MACE has cool graphics and nifty moves, and the action flows smoother than most fighting/martial arts games for the N64. There is a real difference between "easy" and "hard" levels, and it has good head-to-head two-player action. If you already have "Mortal Combat 4" and "Killer Instinct", you will enjoy "Mace".

5.0 out of 5 stars Blood and gore...how fun!!, June 27, 2003

Well, I don't own a copy of MACE, as they dont sell it in england, but i've played my friends version and the arcade version. I wasn't disapointed. For an N64 game this has good graphics/gameplay. Its intense, gory and an all round bit of fun. I'd recomend this to anyone who likes fast paced fighting games.
