Terrific,

This review is from: The magic garden (Hardcover)
This is one of the most compact and sensible gardening books you will ever find. Shirley Conran mamages to be encouraging about projects and plans which will actually work. She also takes the guilt away and stops you feeling like a failure if you can't grow the plants others seem to tend so easily. Sample advice- "African violets grow best in Africa." It was this book which finally convinced me that the average pot plant costs no more than a bunch of flowers, so it is not worth getting stressed if the plant looks sick after six or so weeks. After reading The Magic Garden you will never again try to nurture recalcitrant plants; just throw them out and buy a fresh one!The tips for brightening up and growing gardens are really good. |
