This maglite holster is well made. It's true you can't have anything else on the flashlight, otherwise it won't fit. Also, the newer longer LED flashlights won't fit in this due to their length.

This holster may not be a good item if you use the upgrade kit (conversion of a regular bulb maglite into a LED model). The upgrade kit puts a push button on the bottom and this holster forces you to put the flashlight in tail first. You run the risk of accidentally pushing the flashlight down far enough that it could trigger the click cap and your flashlight could be on and you wouldn't know it.

The construction of the holster is good, but not very versatile.

This holster differs from the plain pouch holster that's often packaged with the AA MagLite, because this holster has a flap with velcro closure coming down over top of the flashlight, to hold it in place.

Since I lost my previous MagLite from its plain pouch holster (it slid out unnoticed when the holster flipped upside down), when I got a replacement MagLite I tossed the plain pouch holster and bought this flap holster instead.

The fabric feels somewhat thinner than that used for the plain pouch holster, but still feels quite sturdy. Its belt loop is also held shut with velcro (which seemed an odd design choice to me), and has room for a 2" wide belt.

I've been using this holster for several weeks now, and have been happy thus far.

I bought my Mini Maglite and companion holster primarily for camping, but in a blackout such as the one that struck most of the northeastern US and chunks of Ontario this week, this simple holster really proves its worth.

The belt loop is essentially the whole top portion of the holster, so it slides smoothly onto even a wide belt, with no clips or other protrusions to get caught on anything.

The rest of the holster is essentially a smooth pouch that perfectly fits the two-AA Mini Maglite. Hold it upside down and the flashlight is unlikely to fall out, but reach for the light and it slips right into your hand.

Let me tell you, last night I was glad I had this item and the Maglite.

The new mini's are longer I guess because my new mini will not fit in the pouch if you want the flap closed, and well..... I'd like the flap to close. Anyways I jerry rigged it and it works. I gave it three stars because they don't let you know there is a difference but I'm sure it works good for what it is intended. Also the belt loop is a velcro strap that makes it handy to remove and apply without having to take off your belt.
