This review is from: MAGLITE AM2A496 Mounting Brackets for AA Mini, Black (Tools & Home Improvement)
In another review I mentioned that the brackets (comparable to these) I bought to secure my large Maglite in a prominent, but out of the way place help me assure that when my children "borrow" my flashlight, its AWOL status is quickly noticed and remedied, in fact it's only walked off once since, and I couldn't blame the kids...I'm the one who didn't put it back.

Anyway these are sturdy little brackets, they come with screws sufficient for mounting them to a wood or sheet metal surface, but you'll need to provide something different to mount them on drywall or cinder block. I used epoxy glue to secure a pair to the roof of the glove-box in each of the cars (place the brackets on the flashlight, put a dollop of JB Weld on each and then wedge the whole setup in place while the adhesive hardens. I used a couple of toilet paper tubes for the wedging). I used toggle bolts to mount a pair to the wall inside the utility closet handy for when I need to slither up into the attic, or down into the crawl space.

Both kids are on a home safety kick right now, drawing fire exit maps and practicing fire drills, making up emergency kits, prodding us to discard old medications, and rather surprisingly, keeping their rooms much neater. One of the little munchkins informed me that she wanted a special place for her flashlight too, and her desk drawer wasn't special enough.

So I found these brackets and now both kiddos have a place near their nightstands to stow their OWN mini-Maglites. Theoretically, we are supposed to have a night time fire drill so the kids can practice rolling out of bed when the smoke detector goes off, reaching for their flashlights, and crawling on their bellies to safety beneath the roiling smoke. The nine-year-old set his alarm clock for a 2 AM fire-drill the other night...and then slept through the alarm...Of course the real reason is they want a flashlight near their beds so they can read under the covers, but they are prepared for the zombie uprising too, and I guess that's a good thing.

With flashlights everywhere, the issue is, will any of them have good batteries when you REALLY need one? We integrated the flashlights into our routine of changing batteries in all the smoke detectors and clocks every fall when the time "falls back". During that extra hour, I reset all the clocks and put fresh batteries in all the gizmos. With LEDs in all the flashlights, the old batteries still have quite a bit of life in them, so they all go into a shoebox. When the kids need batteries for their toys, this is where they look and once those are gone, the kids have to buy their own.

I used these to mount a Mini Mag on the center console of my truck. After multiple uses the Mini Mag and mounts are still mounted as tight and solid as the day I installed them. The mounts still hold the Mini Mag tight as well, with no fatigue.

The brackets hold your light securely and can be placed where ever you would like. No more digging around trying to find my mini maglite any more. Flashlight is easy to remove from brackets.
