My friend introduced me to Maglites many years ago. He carried one in his car as a defensive weapon! I've since owned several sizes of Maglites, from the monster D-cells to the smaller handheld. All of them served me well. I had good expectations of Maglite.

When they say Solitaire, they're not just describing the flashlight size, they're describing the strength of the beam! Compared to today's LED lights, this is one wimpy flashlight. Imagine the amount of light given off from striking a matchstick. The Solitaire gives about half that.

My dime store single LED push-button keylight illuminates better than this product. Adjusting the beam didn't enhance the strength. This was disappointing as a Maglite product.

Pros:
Beautifully boxed for gift giving (though I wouldn't buy another as a gift).
Solid Maglite aluminum casing and build
Convenient keychain
Perfect shade of blue, and not as bright as it appears on my monitor.
Could serve as a nutcracker.

Cons:
Light output is extremely poor.

I was really looking forward to owning one of these and it did not disappoint me at all. The light is bright enough and so is the beam. I had bought it for camping and it served me well. I love the fact that it comes in a little case so that if I do not want to add it to a key chain, I will not have trouble finding it in my bag or purse.

Still as good as when they came onto the market!
Sure you can get 10 times the brightness in a little bigger light, but this will last longer than most those new companies have even existed.
Backed by a real made in the USA lifetime warranty, weighs next to nothing a great task light.
I highly recommend and this one comes with a nice little box for gifting or display.

I always have a light on my key chain and this one replaced one I had that didn't have a compartment for a replaceable battery. The unit comes with a AAA battery and is a bright red and very lightweight. I have no use for the presentation box but my husband may store some screws in it.

For this cost, this is both an impressive gift and an excellent as well as rather handy light.

It's a mini maglite with a bright lite for such a small maglite. Use it for late at night when I have to find something in the medications drawer and don't want to wake the wife. Perfect for that use.

I like everything about this light EXCEPT the bulb! Come on MAG get with the program and start putting LED bulbs in all your flashlights. These lights are too well made to put such a dim old-fashioned bulb inside.

Bought this for running b/c it was small and easy to hold. I keep this in my car for emergencies. You need a brighter light for running.

This is great for a gift and useful too.
Light is bright enough and has a great feel.
Cons: casing looks like a cheap plastic. But I can live with that.
