Maglite Flashlight M3A116 Blue AAA,

Pleasantly surprised at the brightness of the light for such a small instrument. Very happy with it.

I carry one of these in my coat pocket most everywhere I go. They are very handy and can be operated with one hand. Unfortunately my previous one fell and broke it's lense and has never quite been the same. Although it still works (after a glue repair of the lense) I decided to replace it. The new one is much brighter. Long live Maglite!

Very powerful light beam that can be focused at different circular ranges. It reminded me of cars light = so powerful and useful for desert trips and darky nights.

Maglites are great, dependable flashlights. If you leave any flashlight in a toolbox for years without using it, the batteries can leak and damage the light. This purchase was to replace one that I neglected and batteries became a permanent part of the light. These great flashlights deserve better so I will check this new one more often.

I love the size and design of this little flash light which gives off a decent amount of light. But the bulb was a bit finicky and would not always turn on. Also, because the head is so small, it's not easy to balance the light in "candle mode", unless you put it on a flat even surface. Not so functional inside a tent.

Don't get me wrong, the MiniMag's great...,

I used a MiniMag AA for years. It's just that there's a better product out there - the Pelican Versabrite II. It looks like a pager with a flashlight head stuck on top on a pivot. The body has clips to attach to a belt or hat brim for hands-free use...or you can just put it in your shirt pocket with the head protruding. It lacks the beam focus feature of the Maglite, but otherwise is just as bright and more useful - I have a professional use for a small, bright light (the hands-free use is important when you have to take notes at night), and the Pelican is better enough to justify the extra two dollars or so. I don't have any connection with Pelican or anyone who sells their products, I just think they make a superior double-AA cell flashlight... |
