5.0 out of 5 stars Right Tool For The Job
Not the brightest. But great for the price. You don't always need a tactical light. A roll of duct tape, some double sided adhesive, some zip ties, and a little imagination are all you need to have a lamp on your helmet, headlight on your bicycle, or even illuminate a jack-o-lantern without worrying about a fire hazard or the wind blowing it out. Perfect for an 8 year...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not LED
Amazon product description states this light is LED. I ordered it and when it came in I saw it was not LED. Verified it on Maglite website as not being LED. Wanted the LED for long battery life. Amazon need to correct description.

Perfect for an 8 year old to read comic books with under the covers. And it evens becomes a serious close quarters tool with a few mods from Terralux. Make it an LED light, and carry with a Leatherman. I like using it for home inspections and peeking under the hood. Modify it with an ultra violet lamp. Check the sheets when you get home from work. Wives lie. Forensics don't.

We bought 10 of this item for several men's gifts for board members. They loved them and it was a great quality. Great inexpensive gift!

I retired my Maglite 3D a long time ago for my Streamlight. When my life is on the line, I can't afford to have a dim, yellow beam with dark spots. But for those situations where a tactical light is just overkill, this little baby still finds it's way into my tool box. I actually still keep several of these around. They've all been modified with Terralux Tail Cap Switches. One with a red lamp in the glove box so that I don't ruin my night vision or have that bright glare in the windshield. Another converted with a 140 lumen LED that I keep around for peeking under the hood. No homeowner should be without an ultraviolet lamp for checking his sheets for semen when he returns from work. Wives lie. Forensics don't. With a little imagination, a roll of duct tape, some bailing wire, a pack of zip ties, and some double sided mounting adhesive; there's no telling what you could do. I can't count the number of times I've used my Mini-Maglite, a Swiss Army Knife, a paperclip, and a piece of gum to get me out of a jam.
