A waste of time and money,

I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality from what I had read about this but it seemed like an interesting and fun gadget and the price was right. First unit didn't work at all - a hardware problem (it froze up and crashed every time you try to take a picture). So I had to go back downtown to J&R's that same day and they replaced it. The second one works fine.
The binoculars are OK, nothing special but they work as they are intended (10X magnification). I downloaded the pictures from the camera to my computer and literally laughed out loud. The image quality is so abysmal that it makes the picture taking feature essentially useless. My cheap old webcam takes much better pictures. I would advise pretty strongly against buying this for anyone contemplating it. I would go so far as to say that any self respecting camera or electronics store should refuse to put this on their shelves. In retrospect I probably should have picked up on the fact that there were no image examples on the manufacturer's website.

Great Gadget,

I bought mine from Target.com/Amazon a few months ago and I really like it. I posted a black-crowned night heron pic I took with it a while back. I've tried all the binocular camera offerings, like bushnell and celestron, but the magpix has the best optics and the best image quality of them all and its the only one with not interpolated 3MP. The others are all 2MP and then use software to get to 3MP.
Also, the Magpix has an "indefinate on setting" - great for birding! When I was trying out the Bushnell and celetron, they both kept turning off to save power right before the bird arrived. Totally annoying. Bushnell or celestron - if you're reading this - you need to incorporate this into your next models otherwise, we can't use it for birding. Magpix has a good product and really fun gadget.

Not worth getting. Low power binocular with an even lower power camera. Everything relies on battery power. I should have heeded the 1 review noting the disapointing product. The technology needs perfecting. Dont waste your money.
