Great read!: Perfect for anyone who's a fan of baseball, June 24, 2009
This review is from: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports (Sports by the Numbers) (Paperback)
I am a big baseball fan and still I learned a lot of new stats and facts. It's fun to try to guess what some of the numbers will be whether it's 61, 714 or 755. But, it's more than just numbers. The back stories behind the numbers make things so much more enjoyable. Casual and hard core baseball fans alike will have a hard time putting it down once they start reading it. This book touches on all eras of baseball. It includes everyone from Cy Young to Jackie Robinson and yes, even Barry Bonds. It's amazing to read some of the random and head scratching facts and stories that appear. It's a great buy because you can refer back to it from time to time and read just a few pages or a whole chapter. It's an easy read that allows you to easily skip forward and back without missing anything and enjoy reading at your own pace.

A Great Summer Read, June 15, 2009
This review is from: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports (Sports by the Numbers) (Paperback)
The last time it was a fact book about the Yankees and now it is about all of baseball; a book filled with a thousand facts. Every number, 1-1000 has a baseball fact related to it. It can be read at anytime and any place. This is another book for those who love baseball and sports in general.

Major League Baseball is a Home Run!, July 1, 2009
This review is from: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports (Sports by the Numbers) (Paperback)
Finally, Sports by the Numbers (TM) has tackled Major League baseball! After enjoying New York Yankees: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports I eagerly awaited MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports. The book was worth the wait as the authors did not disappoint. Keeping the same winning formula from New York Yankees this book encompasses the entire sport of baseball with facts and figures from America's pastime. From Cy Young and his award winning career to modern day achievements, from the Bronx Bombers to the Braves Dynasty, this book has it all. The book makes for fascinating reading as each number from 1 to 1000 is characterized by a significant statistic. But not only does it include numbers (as in Sports by the Numbers -the authors trade marked series of books) but it also has photos, stories and trivia that will bring you back to this book, time and time again. Some of the numbers have expanded information at their website where additional reading material, audio and video clips, and more can be found. An extra bonus! I found myself picking it up often and each time wondering what would be behind the numbers I picked. What a great gift for anyone interested in the history, numbers and pageantry of Major League Baseball. This is a must in any baseball fans library Sam Hendricks, author "Fantasy Football Guidebook", "Fantasy Football Tips" and "Fantasy Football Almanac 2009"
