Product Description

This disc has a silver lacquer top surface, and a Silver (Phthalocyanine) recording surface, with a maximum recording speed of 24x, and is designed to work in Digital Audio home recorders (HHB/Marantz). It will work with Rimage Prism and Primera Inscripta printers. It is packaged in 100 pc shrink wrap, and in master cartons of 600 pcs. This product is not designed to work in a Rimage Everest printer. This will work with screen printing.

Mitsui/MAM-A Why is it better?
#1 The Dye - Since the laser which records the data burns the dye, it is a key aspect of the technology required to manufacture a high-quality CD-R. Indeed, One of MAM's greatest strength lies in its use of the patented Phthalocyanine, the best organic dye currently available.

#2 The Surface - Mitsui/MAM-A discs feature their own ?Diamond Coat? surface, which resists scratching and fingerprints. Unlike a pressed CD-ROM, normal CD-R processing leaves the most vital area the most vulnerable. Just below that lacquer surface & reflective layer on top of your disc is the precious dye layer, which is what stores all your data. Scratch the top, and you?ve got a problem. Mitsui/MAM-A Diamond Coat is an extra hard surface that keeps the data safe.

#3 The Consistency - Every disc Mitsui/MAM-A makes is made to the center of the Orange Book standard. They don?t cut any corners with shorter stacking rings (causes static), thinner reflective layers (poor playback on old readers, or dye (100-300 year life vs. 10-30)

5.0 out of 5 stars MAM-A is wonderful, June 7, 2009
This review is from: MAM-A 80m Silver Digital Audio Unbranded in Shrink Wrap - 100 Count (Electronics)
I have used about 250 of these disks so far, always with excellent results. (Only once was the end result botched up - but that was a software glitch.) I use a simple Sony CD recorder, and these disks have worked very well so far - no complaints at all.

Incidentally, these disks are specified as 24X compatible - and on my computer, they do burn at 24X. Most other merchants sell MAM-A disks of 12X capability.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware!, January 13, 2007
This review is from: MAM-A 80m Silver Digital Audio Unbranded in Shrink Wrap - 100 Count (Electronics)
These cd-r's are not worth a damn! I would have given them a zero but it was not on the scale. Only about half of the 50 were useable. The other 25 simply could not be recorded on. I have a brand new professional HHBCDR-830 so i knew it was not the recorder. I bought a 50 pack of HHB cd-r's and have not had one bad one in the lot. Do not buy these discs for they are junk!
