5.0 out of 5 stars Man Machine, October 2, 2008

This review is from: Man Machine (Audio CD)
Man Machine being Kraftwerk's 1978 release is such a good recording. Starting of with the classic track The Robots. Later showcasing more amazing tracks like the social satire The Model. The cover is classic Kraftwerk. The four members dressed in red shirts, with stern faces and red lipstick. The sound of these homemade keyboards is quite remarkable. They managed by themselves to create sounds that have not been equalled even today. EMI United Kingdom certainly were a bit niggardly when it comes to the book-let. There are no lyrics and it contains of just 4 pages. No pictures of the robots inside? Even so this is a quintessential recording for fans of Kraftwerk and early electronic music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cerebral, enticing, deep. A sonic and emotional trip., August 3, 1998

This was the second Kraftwerk album that I ever heard (and bought). I still have my original US and German LP's, although they are quite worn by now. Both this and "Computer World" are in my top ten favorite albums of all time.

The songs, "The Model", "Man Machine" and "Metropolis" are defining moments of the electronic music genre (although the members of Kraftwerk term their style "Industrial Folk").

Incredible, indelible music. I've won over many friends and work-mates to electronic music -- Kraftwerk in particular -- with this album. Highly recommended.
