It's a True feather pillow. It is firmly stuffed and you will need a pillowcase, its not soft enough to use (for you head) without one. But for travel use, I'm very happy with it. I have used it for my head also I put it behind my back while I drove(lumbar support). And the size is perfect for camping and putting in your pack.
