I recently purchased this archery set for my son's 7th birthday. He has been asking for a bow and arrows for awhile now but couldn't find the right product at any store. He needed something high quality yet with a draw weight fitted for his young age. This product is not a toy, and that is just what I was looking for. It fit his draw length and weight perfectly out of the box, although it can be adjusted to grow as he gets a little older. We sighted it in and he can hit the target 9 out of 10 times from around 30 feet after using it only twice. He's really proud of his new bow and wants to bring it everywhere to show off his new found 'hunting' skills.

My 6 year old son got this as a Christmas present this year and LOVES it! There are a couple of really great things about it: 1 You can adjust the tension and draw length, so we were able to lower the tension for the winter so my son can practice in the basement and can up it in the spring when he can bring it outside! 2. because it's adjustable, it will grow with him 3. the arrow goes in a slot that helps prevent it from flying off in an odd direction if misfired! 4. It has a sight (just like Dad's) 5. It looks like a real adult bow, so my son feels pretty cool!! All around a good little bow and not too expensive either! We are very happy with the purchase!

Pretty good,

This is a pretty nice bow, and the first one ever purchased. It was for my 8yr old daughter, and seems to be just right. The arrows fly pretty well, but could be a little nicer. One was bowed a bit and flies a little strange. Overall, this was worth the price.

Purchased this for my 5 year old. This is a great quality product. Much better than the popular Bear Archery youth bows. This bow was about double the price, but way worth it. Having the arrow go through the middle of the bow is great becuase the arrow wont fall off like a regular bow. Great feature for the little ones who done have fingers long enough to hold the arrow on with a standard configuration bow. One downside of the design is that is really hard to get an accurate aim by sighting along the arrow. You have to use the supplied sight pin which works great.

This is what we expected. It came in a timely manner. The 15# pull is just right for our 8 year old and I am glad that it is adjustable as he grows.

I have twin boys. As luck would have it, one is a righty and the other is a lefty. The center shot design allowed me to purchase one bow for use by both boys. The draw weight is adjustable which also gives the bow added life as the kids grow. Great product.

The riser warped! Twice!!,

I bought this bow for my son back in 2009 for his 9th birthday. He barely got to shoot it due to a lack of space to practice until this past March when we found someone willing to coach him. It worked pretty well until May when the riser warped. He went on vacation with the grandparents to Arkansas and couldn't figure out why his bow wasn't shooting straight any more (the impact point was waaaay off from the sight pin). He didn't shoot it all summer because of this. Long story short, when he resumed his lessons in late August, his coach noticed that the bow was warped. Martin's customer service took my call on a Friday, and mailed out a new bow without questioning anything the following Monday.
My son's new bow arrived on the 16th, and today at his lesson, his coach noticed that his new bow is warped already... on its first use! I don't have the money for a different bow for my son, so we're stuck. Even if Martin sends yet another bow, I have no confidence that it won't do the same thing. The only reason I'm giving this bow 2 stars is because of Martin Archery's CS.

Got this UPS today... Just in time for Christmas. My son is 5 years old and I was looking for something I knew he would be able to pull back and wasn't too heavy for him. This fits the bill perfectly!!! It is lightweight, I'd say less than a pound. It comes with basically everything he needs to get started. I appreciate how the arrow actually goes through the center of the bow to prevent miss fires while he is just learning. Nothing is warped on it or anything like other reviews. The arrows are wooden. Not sure if that is good or bad but we will find out. It is exactly what we were looking for.
UPDADATE: We just had this out and my son was shooting this for the first time. Definately NOT a toy. It seems to shoot straight and everthing works as promised. Completely happy with this purchace and we have found a new family thing to do that we all love. Awesome product!!!
